Solyndra Lives On–As Modern Art

Remember Solyndra? Shortly after taking more than $500MILLION taxpayer dollars (approved by Team Obama) they filed for bankruptcy? All that taxpayer money down the drain because nobody bought the company and few showed up for the bankruptcy auction.

End of story? No. Following the auction in January remaining employees were spotted trashing crate upon crate of the glass tubes used in solar panels. Millions of dollars worth. If you didn’t hear about this watch this video. Warning: you WILL become angry at the terrible waste. Guaranteed.

As the reporter tells you, it’s not that the glass tubes have much value when compared to the money owed by the company. But to this taxpayer, it’s certainly the principle of their actions. And frustrating that the tubes were not sold or even donated for the public good.

But wait, all is not lost. Some of the tubes were salvaged. Today they have been turned in to a modern art display. It’s called SOL Grotto and uses 1,368 of the Solyndra tubes (of the estimated 24 Million) and is located at the University of California Berkeley in their Botanical Garden display.  In case you don’t want to visit here’s a short video of these tubes, paid for by you the American taxpayer.

Wasting Taxpayer Dollars

In 1982, President Reagan directed the Grace Commission to “work like tireless bloodhounds to root out government inefficiency and waste of tax dollars.”

Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) is the legacy of the Grace Commission with a mission to eliminate waste, mismanagement, and inefficiency in the federal government.

The following video is an interview with CAGW President, Tom Schatz who speaks of just one incident of taxpayer waste. The Department of Agriculture spent TWO MILLION taxpayer dollars on a program that net the hiring of just one intern.

This example makes it clear why so many are against additional government spending without better management of current budgets.

Obama’s Litany of Wasteful Spending Continues

The Washington Free Beacon reported that the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has obtained new emails that show direct involvement between the White House and the Department of Energy over its disastrous green energy loan program.

“Department of Energy’s credibility is thin, and I’m currently trying to put off communications with people on the Hill,” Brightsource CEO John Woolard wrote to Matt Rogers, senior adviser to the secretary of energy for the Recovery Act.

Brightsource received a conditional loan guarantee worth $1.6 billion in taxpayer dollars to build a solar farm in California.

“Also, Darbee at PG&E talked directly to Obama about the program’s challenges and the bad situation it puts him in,” Woolard wrote in the email.

That was a reference to Peter Darbee, the former CEO of Pacific Gas and Electric.

PG&E has entered into power purchase agreements with Brightsource for its new solar project. As previously reported by the Free Beacon, PG&E is an aggressive purchaser of renewable power in California and has a formidable presence on Capitol Hill. The company has spent $82.3 million on lobbying since 2008, and the company’s political action committee has given nearly $380,000 to Democrats since 2008.

The White House has maintained the narrative that no influence was exerted with these companies, but that appears to be a false claim.

This is part of a litany of developments that show crony capitalism and wasteful spending.  In Nevada, Americans for Prosperity uncovered more waste from the Section 1603 program with the revelation that only 5,500 full time jobs have been created through green energy initiatives.  That’s $2 million per job!

Moreover, “Energy from the solar plant will cost ratepayers nearly three times more than energy from natural gas. (This is thanks to mandates from the state government; it enacted a Renewable Portfolio Standard of 25 percent “green” energy by 2025.)”

However, Obama has also wasted money in the areas of research and development.  According to MyGovCost.org:

The NBC Investigative Unit has raised questions about two grants totaling nearly $1.5 million dollars distributed to the University of California San Francisco. The money was part of the federal stimulus program and went to studies into the erectile dysfunction of overweight middle aged men and the accurate reporting of someone’s sexual history.

Here’s the $726,805 grant the government issued for the research into the erectile dysfunction of overweight middle-age men, which created 1.61 jobs according to the government’s estimates and which, apparently, is now more than 50% completed.

As for the study into how to improve the surveys in which data about individual sexual histories are collected, here’s the $1,260,717 grant, which as of May 15, 2012 is reported by the federal government to have resulted in the creation of 0.78 jobs, which is down from the 0.85 jobs that the NBC Bay Area Investigative Team reported just a day earlier.

Let’s give a round of applause to the stimulus’s resounding success!

Lazy, Good for Nothing Obama-Cronies Caught Red-Handed Burning the Taxpayers

Barack Obama and company pumped a half a billion taxpayer dollars into the failed Solar Panel company, Solyndra. Big-time Obama donors were put on the “we get paid first” list while the taxpayers were basically told to eat dirt.($500 million dollars worth of it) With Solyndra pleading bankruptcy, the remaining assets were ordered to be sold so that past debts can be paid, albeit for pennies on the dollar, if at all. So how can anyone justify the following video, where we see Solyndra employees  dumping millions of dollars worth of special glass tubes used in the manufacturing of solar panels into a dumpster?

In that video, courtesy of CBS5 in San Francisco, they filmed Solyndra employees throwing away thousands of these high-tech glass tubes, representing millions of dollars worth of materials that surely could have been sold? According to the CBS5 report it gets even worse:

Solyndra paid at least $2 million for the specialized glass. A CBS 5 crew found one piece lying in the parking lot. Solyndra still owes the German company that made the tubes close to another $8 million.

Neither the Germans nor the U.S. taxpayers can expect any effort on the part of Obama’s Solyndra cronies to pay back what they owe them. This is proven right in that video.  CBS5  also blows the lid off the lies and excuses being told to justify this lunacy:

An employee for Heritage Global Partners, the company in charge of selling Solyndra’s assets, told CBS 5 they conducted an exhaustive search for buyers but no one wanted them. But how exhaustive was that search? The tubes were never included on the list of Solyndra assets put up for sale at two auctions last year.If they were, David Lucky told CBS 5 he would have bought them. “We certainly would have bid on them, yes,” Lucky said. Lucky owns several large warehouses near Las Vegas. He buys and then resells manufacturing equipment and components all the time.

Meanwhile President Obama has the audacity to brag about his grand solar panel investments on behalf of the taxpayers, in these Liberal Green energy failures. When asked by Liberal fluff-master and Obama’s favorite softball server,George Stephanopoulos if he regretted his promotion of the bankrupt Solyndra solar panel company, the teleprompter in chief simply stated, “No, I don’t.” $500 million hard-earned tax dollars were thrown in the dumpster with nothing to show for it, and Barack Hussein Obama doesn’t regret it one little bit. Yet today there are still 47% of the uninformed masses in America today saying they want four more years of this. (in the form of Obama’s approval rate) Go figure.

Senator Rubio Rips Pork-Laden Omnibus Bill

Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fl) voted against H.R. 2055, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2012, which passed the U.S. Senate on Saturday, Dec. 18th, 2011 in an attempt to avoid a government shutdown once again. The last minute deal was necessary due to the gridlock in the U.S. Senate where Majority Leader Harry Reid has refused to allow votes on the numerous spending bills sitting on his desk for months. Senator Rubio joins Senator John McCain who took to the Senate floor to voice his strong objections as to how this bill was rammed through without following proper authorizations procedures. Senator Rubio released the following statement explaining why he voted against H.R. 2055:

“This massive 1,200-plus page bill represents everything that is wrong with Washington. Our country faces major economic challenges, but Congress wasted the whole year stuck in partisan gridlock only to pass a funding bill that solves none of our problems, just to avoid a government shutdown. This plan spends too much, wastes precious taxpayer dollars to fund a menu of job-killing regulations, anti-life provisions and earmarks, and has been ushered through Congress in a highly secretive and non-transparent manner that didn’t allow for consideration of even a single amendment. I cannot support it.”

In the following Marco Rubio constituent mailbox video we see just how fed up Americans truly are with the current state of DC and the big government debt-spending that continues unabated.

Almost all House Republican measures to reign in spending that were included in H.R. 2055 as it passed through the House were somehow craved out by the Senate. The Senate did leave the Republican light bulb ban stoppage measure in the final bill. Senator Jim DeMint came out with a scathing letter about just what has transipred in the U.S. senate once again, titled, A Shameful End to the Year.In it we see the following truths exposed:

The hard choice Democrats have given Republicans has paid off for the big-spenders again.

Refusing to work together to cut spending, Democrats demanded that Republicans compromise with them to increase spending, or shut down the government.

As a result, Congress rammed through a 1,000-page, trillion-dollar omnibus spending bill that lumped 9 different appropriations bills in a single package at the very last minute rather than debating, amending, and voting on these bills in a transparent manner.

As was reported here, this last-minute spending spree to supposedly avoid a government shut-down is beng done by design by Senate Democrats, and Senator Jim DeMint appears to agree with that assessment:

It’s become a cynical yearly tradition in Washington to delay the big-spending votes until just before Christmas. After all, it’s how Democrats in the Senate passed ObamaCare. Members of Congress are now hurrying home after the vote without much talk, but it should not be forgotten. It represents a shameful end to a year that began with many bold assurances.

Conservatives must win a majority in the U.S. Senate in the 2012 elections if we are ever to reverse the course of big government debt-spending that threatens to throw America off of the debt-cliff she is standing on the edge of. It is blatantly obvious that Democrats refuse to curb their debt-spending addiction, to the detriment of our great nation.

Senator John McCain Blasts Big Government Grifters Taxpayer Abuse

Obama creates debt commission, then ignores their solutions

A grifter is defined by urbandictionary.com as a: someone who swindles you through deception or fraud, and b: a grifter is an expert in illicit acquisition of goods or services through various methods of over confident flim-flammery and fast talking. Apparently several members of Congress today fit both definitions of the term grifter, as outlined above. Senator John McCain took to the floor of the United States Senate today to call out the unauthorized spending, waste, and pay-for-play disservice to the American taxpayer that was slid into the current 2012 defense spending bill. This is where the term Big Government Grifter comes into play.

The Maverick Really Gets Fired Up! Senator John McCain (R-AZ) was livid about the wasteful spending he discovered that was tucked into the defense spending bill, and repeatedly slammed his fist down on the podium in an expression of utter disgust as he gave his floor speech today. The text of the entire speech is available here, and the following are just a few examples of exactly what was also mentioned in this article on the current omnibus spending bill also being rammed through Congress this week:

Mr. President, I come to the floor today to discuss the Fiscal Year 2012 Omnibus Appropriations bill that the House just passed this afternoon and the Senate will vote on tomorrow. Once again, the Senate is faced with a thousand-plus page behemoth of an appropriations bill and very little in the way of authorizations to support it. So here we are, at the end of another calendar year, cramming what should be months of actual debate and legislating into hours of reckless appropriating.

As was detailed in this CDN article, this points to a pattern of being done by design to avoid any forms of Congressional accountability and transparency. In a statement that backs that theory up, Senator McCain called upon Senator Coburn today to bring to light the fact that Congress is currently severely cutting funding to the Government Accountability Office in 2012. The GAO is the non-partisan watchdog that helps the government weed out waste and fraud to protect the taxpayers. The current planned cuts for the 2012 budget will result in a total of 400 less employees at the GAO.

Here are some bullet points from Mr. McCain’s Senate floor speech today:

So let’s compare last years omnibus debacle to this years:

• “Last year – 1,924 pages. This year – 1,221 pages.
• “Last year – all 12 annual appropriations bills. This year – nine of the annual appropriations bills.
• “Last year – over $1.1 trillion in spending. This year – over $915 billion in spending or $1.043 trillion if you include the three bills we’ve already passed. That works out to be a reduction of 5% from last year to this year. Taxpayers get a better deal at a Macy’s Christmas sale.
• “Last year – 6,488 earmarks totaling nearly $8.3 billion. This year – no traditional “earmarks” but over $3.5 billion in unauthorized spending in DoD alone.
“So should we consider this progress? Are we doing anything differently? The national debt is now at the record level of over $15 trillion, which is more than $48,000 per citizen, yet we have failed to make any significant, meaningful spending cuts and we continue with business as usual.

Senator McCain went on to outline how the whole appropriations process is fundamentally flawed today. “We have a fundamental problem in the Senate, Mr. President, of being unable to engage in the process of authorizing prior to regular appropriations. And what is the outcome? A handful of appropriators and unelected staffs disburse hundreds of billions of dollars, often in a manner that directly contravenes the will of the authorizers. Consequently, at the 11th hour of the process, we ram through an omnibus measure so that we can get out of town for the holidays. It’s disgraceful Mr. President.”

Mr. McCain goes on to show us how unauthorized spending has been injected into the defense spending bill through this rushed-through omnibus bill they are now being forced to pass.
This omnibus contains a number of objectionable provisions: (shortened versions)

Guam is getting earmarks of $33 million U.S. taxpayer dollars for 53 civilian school buses, and a cultural artifacts depository. (museum) Sen. McCain added, “I can only say that the many citizens of Arizona who are out of work, whose homes have been lost due to the economic downturn, who would benefit from any sort of action by the Federal Government to create jobs and ease their burdens, feel nothing but outrage when they see this kind of blatant waste and abuse of the political system that has gone on for years and years and years. But that’s not the end of this sad story. Within this initial funding grant to Guam of $33 million is $9.6 million for the first phase of a mental health facility that advocates claim is somehow related to the proposed military buildup on Guam. I’m still trying to sort this argument out, but I have that odd feeling that to do so I must go down the rabbit hole to Alice in Wonderland.

And Senator McCain was just getting wound up in the first 10 minutes of today’s floor speech, to which he added about the Guam mental health facility to be built with U.S. Taxpayer dollars: “And, of course, this $9.6 million dollars of pork in the FY12 Defense Appropriations bill is only the down payment, the ‘nose of the camel under the tent’ you might say, because to complete the facility as required to satisfy the already existing federal injunction against Guam, another $33 million will be required next year in 2013 to finish out the project as well as building a new public health laboratory. Wonderful!”
Senator McCain went on to mention the Tea Party and how fed-up Americans are with these kinds of Big Government Grifters that are doing this kind of wasteful, reckless spending:

The American people have seen this kind of abuse and waste for far too often, and they have had enough of it. They are convinced Congress never learns. And by this example, it’s hard to say they are wrong. In fact, this sort of complete waste and abuse of the taxpayers’ money proves they are exactly right.”

To which he added: “If you don’t understand the rise of the Tea Party, you can start by looking right here.”

The second half of Senator McCain’s Senate floor speech was just as informative as the first half as he laid out such things as other provisions. “The Defense portion of the Omnibus contains some $3.5 billion in unrequested, unauthorized spending for items that are not core, high-priority Defense requirements. As you will see, Mr. President, many old favorites appear on the list.” Again, I urge all concerned citizens to check the complete list of waste, fraud, and taxpayer abuse found in the latest omnibus bill, brought to you by the Big Government Grifters of Congress, and outlined on Senator McCain’s website.

Footnote: How ironic is this fact? Rep. Hal Rogers (R-KY) Is on the House floor giving a speech right now, saying how wonderful the tireless staff on the House Appropriations Committee have been while working on this omnibus bill. Mr. Rogers is the Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee. Maybe he should give Senator John McCain a call and have a discussion about just how wonderful this pork-laden, fraud-upon-the-taxpayers omnibus truly is for the U.S. Taxpayer.

High-Speed Rail Rip-off in Liberal La-La Land

Source: Getty Images
Pictured at left is Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood. This is the man who tried to help force the high-speed rail boondoggle onto the citizens of Florida after we voted down a tax for it, and our Governor, Rick Scott turned down the Federal funds dangled in front of  him for this scam. Governor Scott sited bloated ridership projections and a slew of Liberal math based revenues, and low-ball cost projections as his reason for turning down the high-speed rail plan. Governor Scott, you see actually has decades of business budgeting in his background, and saw through the fluffy false data that was presented to him when he reviewed the project. Florida will no longer be on the hook in the future for billions of dollars in waste, fraud, and abuse inherent in these projects, and we owe Governor Scott a debt of gratitude for his strong protection of the Florida taxpayers in this debacle.
For the sceptics that want proof of the above statements, we have to look no further than the recently exposed high-speed-rail scam recently uncovered in California. This is what happens when you elect unqualified Liberals to positions of power, as they have been doing in California for decades. Oh yes it’s real cool man, as we see Governor Jerry Brown try to deal with a $25 billion dollar shortfall this year. Already on the chopping block there is the closing of a slew of State Parks to try to save money.  I can’t imagine the folks in Liberal La-La land going without their State parks.  As far as California goes, they got sucked right into the high-speed rail scheme, and now they are going to pay for it big time !  Adam B Summers, a policy analyst at The Reason Foundation laid it all out nicely in an op-ed in the San Diego Union-Tribune recently. In it he stated:

Voters narrowly approved issuing $9.95 billion in bonds, with expectations that the federal government and private investors would cover the rest. But after the election, cost estimates rose to $43 billion for the Los Angeles-San Francisco project alone.

Also, the one-way fare between the two cities was predicted to be $55, making it cheaper than flying. But after the election, ticket price estimates rose to $105, observes Adam B. Summers, a policy analyst at the Reason Foundation.

“Like most large public infrastructure projects, the California high-speed rail project was sold to the public based on false promises, exaggerated benefits and low-ball cost estimates,” Summers writes in an opinion piece for the San Diego Union-Tribune.

He points out that ridership estimates are projected as high as 117 million passengers per year. Yet the entire Amtrak system, which includes more than 500 destinations and 21,000 miles of track, serves just 27 million passengers a year. (emphasis mine)

The actual cost is over 400% of the original projections,  ( lies ) the ridership projections are so inflated that it is almost beyond comprehension, as in Amtrak serving 27 million riders a year while the scheming politicians and fraudsters had the people of California believing that this high-speed rail project would have 117 million riders a year. WOW.  Where the hell did Californians think all these riders would come from?  False promises, exaggerated revenue projections and benefits and low-ball cost estimates, and the people of California bought it up like $10 dollar Gucci handbags at a flea market!  Right there we see every reason Governor Scott turned down this rail scheme, and he is proven to be 100% correct, and yet we still have some morons down here in Florida, ( The St Pete Times to name the biggest one ) crying about his decision. Amazing.

Mr Summers also pointed out the insanity of this boondoggle was exposed as early as 2008, yet the corruto-crats and the California media puppets of the Liberal machine kept the truth from the people:

Summers notes that a September 2008 study published by the Reason Foundation and the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association found that the actual cost of the high-speed rail system would be at least $65 billion and perhaps as high as $81 billion, and that “the project was not viable because it was based on wildly optimistic assumptions.”

Governors in Florida, Ohio, and Wisconsin have recently canceled plans for high-speed rail projects in their states. Summers urges that California, which is running deficits of up to $25 billion a year, “should follow their example and put a stop to this boondoggle before it becomes yet another budgetary black hole for the state.”

Thank you Governor Scott and the other Governors that have protected the taxpayers by refusing this Liberal high-speed rail scheme that is being promoted by most of the lame media puppets across America today. I hereby issue a challenge to ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, and Fox to report this information on the high-0speed rail rip-off that now hangs over the California taxpayers heads for decades to come, all simply because of media manipulation, malpractice and flat out lies. What say you MSM ?

2011 Budget “Deal” Means “Historic” Deficit Spending to Continue

The first headline I encountered at 4 am about the government shutdown soap opera that we have been inunindated with for weeks now, is truly puzzling. From FoxNews.com;  ‘Historic’ Deal Made to Avoid Closure .  It might just be time to sign FoxNews up as head of promotions for Obama’s 2012 Continuing to trash America Re-election campaign by the looks of things here. The only two things that are historic concerning this situation is the fact that we will continue to spend record amounts of tax payer dollars that will be borrowed from other countries thus piling on record debt, and the historic amount of flat out fear-mongering and lies that were told to the people by the media in this fiasco.

To put it in one simple sentence, our government wants the American people to believe that Obama and our Congressional representatives are some kind of heroes for putting us under what now will be sure to surpass $15 trillion dollars of national debt.  According to the Washington Times, our national deficit will reach almost $2 trillion dollars in 2011. That means that we are on a pace to spend $2 trillion more dollars than the U.S. treasury is projected to take in this year.

Mr. Obama’s budget projects that 2011 will see the biggest one-year debt jump in history, or nearly $2 trillion, to reach $15.476 trillion by Sept. 30, the end of the fiscal year. That would be 102.6 percent of GDP — the first time since World War II that dubious figure has been reached.

And the budget projects the government will run a deficit of $1.645 trillion this year, topping 2009’s previous record by more than $230 billion. By contrast, 2007’s deficit was just $160 billion altogether.

Check the above numbers over one more time, and we see that, yes, we are truly in “historic” times today, at least as far as our government’s spending us into financial Armageddon goes, anyway.  We can expect President Obama to be championed as a real hero and budget hawk ,          (in the media fluff sure to come out today) that has saved the lives of millions of people due to his wizardry during this fake budget debate. Millions of lives were  saved, according to lunatic Democratic Congresswoman Louis Slaughter, (D- NY) who told us all yesterday on national TV, that the Republicans wanted to kill women by de-funding the abortion promoters over at Planned Parenthood. You can watch this disgusting display of shameful rhetoric right here:

Oh yes, maybe this person truly does have the fitting last name of Slaughter , as in Slaughtering the idea that the Democrats are calling for a new “civil discourse” in America today.  That episode right there should be enough get her kicked right the hell out of the people’s government, period. What  say the voters of New York about that truth ?

Since I mentioned the sure to come trumpeting of Obama and company as heroes that avoided millions of deaths from a government shutdown earlier, let’s take a browse around the news right now at 5:35 am the Saturday morning that followed this “historic” action. Let the spin begin. Over at yahoo.com we see Obama’s own version of,  ‘lets make heroes out of the idiots that are bankrupting America, spin:”

Obama: government shut down avoided after budget deal.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama said on Friday that compromises by both Democrat and Republican lawmakers involving “painful” spending cuts had secured a budget deal and avoided a shutdown of the U.S. government

In remarks at the White House less than an hour before a midnight deadline to shut the government down, Obama thanked the leaders of both parties for reaching an agreement he said delivered the deepest spending cuts in U.S. budget history (emphasis mine)

Painful spending cuts Mr. President? 38 billion is nothing when stacked up next to your current Historic Deficit Spending of 2011.

Deepest spending cuts in U.S. budget history? Total dollars in spending cuts are only historic due to the fact that you have already jacked up our national deficits and debt to unprecedented levels. The true number would be found in the percentage of the budget dollars that are being cut as compared to other years. We see lots of spin using the word historic again that amount to nothing more than Liberal math being used to perpetuate budget gimmickry through catch-phrases designed to hide the truth.

Over at TheDeseret news we see more fluff and spin here , in which the politicians were made out to have been digging ditches and plowing fields by hand for the past six weeks !

The deal came together after six grueling weeks and an outbreak of budget brinksmanship over the past few days as the two sides sought to squeeze every drop of advantage in private talks. (emphasis mine)

Six grueling weeks? Let me remind the intelligent, open-minded readers of the facts about those six grueling weeks there. First of all, this is the first time in six weeks that these elitists haven’t taken a four and a half day weekend. That’s right, I don’t consider it a grueling week when you cut out at noon on Thursday afternoon and return to work on Tuesday at whatever time you chose to saunter in to work for the people. As a matter of fact, we need time clocks and punch-in cards for these phony elitists today, then we shall wee who is actually working  forty-plus hours a week like the people paying their salaries, and who isn’t. This is a continuation of the lie that said every politician up on the hill worked all night to try to get a budget deal done. Do they really think the people are so stupid that they will believe that lie? Half of the misfits in Congress can’t stay awake and pay attention during legislative debates during normal working hours, that is when they chose to actually show up, and we are supposed to believe they worked, 60 or 70 hours straight all of a sudden ? Take a look at some of these politicians, it looks like they can barely stand up long enough to make a fifteen minute speech, let alone work for three days straight.

The Hill.com has a pretty decent, all-inclusive breakdown of this debacle here.

The agreement, which came after days of partisan sparring and rhetorical drama, would fund the government through the end of September and cut $78.5 billion compared to Obama’s proposed but never enacted fiscal 2011 budget. (emphasis mine)

When they mention $78.5 billion in budget cuts total there, note the keywords compared to Obama’s 2011 budget proposal. That proposal also increases our deficit in 2011 to a record  $1.9 trillion dollars. So no in reality, we are not cutting 78.5 billion from anything there.  That is why the realistic total budget cuts for 2011 in this latest deal is mostly stated at around a paltry $38 billion.

So there we have it folks, record deficit spending will continue for the rest of 2011 as we march towards the bankruptcy of the United States of America, and the media propagandists will force-feed the people about how the traitors in Congress, along with Barrack Hussein Obama are to be worshipped as tirelessly working heroes who saved millions of American lives by averting a government shutdown. The propaganda media machine of the left is the only group working overtime here, and it shows. In the meantime, taxpayers are still forced to pay for the Planned Parenthood murder of babies through abortions, the EPA is still passing illegal laws and regulations without going through Congress first, and  gasoline prices are  skyrocketing.  These heroes actually look more like zeroes from my vantage point here.

The catch-phrase propaganda term of the day; “Historic.”  Watch for it.

UPDATE, Sunday Morning, April 10th, 2011. Fox has the following headline:

TOP STORIES

After Historic Deal, Battles Loom Over Debt Ceiling, 2012 Budget

George Soros (pictured clapping in article intro) is up in New Hampshire planning the New World order as he thinks it should be, including re-structuring America’s financial system. He can’t do that if our system is in sound shape, so now he is surely clapping as the media makes champions out of Obama and our Politicians, as they continue our irresponsible deficit spending in 2011 towards the “fundamental transformation of America” that Obama bragged about in 2008.  The internet is soon to be our sole source of unbiased, government-influence free sources of real news and information. Historic Deal, my rear end.

UPDATE 2- Fox claims Speaker Boehner achieved a  Major Budget Victory here.

He is the primary author of a compromise to keep the government operating for the rest of the year with the largest spending reduction in history – 63 percent of the original GOP request of $61 billion. Republicans also got a potpourri of sweeteners, like up-or-down votes on politically painful subjects like President Obama’s health care law and federal subsidies for Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider. Not too shabby for a guy who held only one of three seats at the negotiating table. (emphasis mine)

Spinning numbers with the statement of the largest spending reduction in history – 63% of $61 billion disgusts me to no end here Fox.  Here. let me help you with the cold hard truth: $38 billion in cuts is only a record because of the record deficits Obama and the Dems have created in the last two years. $38B isnt squat, when we see almost 2 trillion in deficit spending in 2011 alone. Clear enough ?  Mark my words, when America is declared bankrupt and defaults on the $14 trillion in debt loans in the very near future, I,m going to personally rub your faces in this crap for calling it historic and lying to the people about what is really happening here. At some point, we the people must hold the media propagandists accountable for these types of lies and skewed information. Furthermore, calling this a GOP victory is another lie. Boehner didnt win anything, just votes on Planned parenthood’s murder machine and Obamacare that the Harry Rid-controlled Senate will throw in the trash. Also, I notice the EPA defunding vote isn’t mentioned. As far as reducing spending and creating a business-friendly atmosphere to repair our economy, defunding the EPA is the most important issue. Funnt how the media is trying to sweep that topic right under the carpet once again. Pathetic.

Fannie and Freddie Fatcats Still Raking in Taxpayer Dollars. $35M in Bonuses

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac executives raked in over $35 million dollars in bonuses while sucking another $153 BILLION dollars out of taxpayers for being nothing more than an epic failure.

A report issued Thursday by the Federal Housing Finance Agency’s Office of the Inspector General shed some light on the following payoffs for incompetence, ineptitude or just plain theft of taxpayer dollars:

  • At Fannie Mae (Federal National Mortgage Association), its chief executive officer received $9.3 million in total compensation in 2009 and 2010, the report reveals. The CEO is Michael J. Williams, who joined the company in 1991.
  • At Freddie Mac (Federal Home Loan Mortgage Association), CEO Charles E. Haldeman Jr., former head of Putnam Investments, made $7.8 million in the two years since the company was taken over by the federal government.
  • Fannie Mae’s chief financial officer made $4.6 million, and its chief accounting officer/general counsel received $4.5 million.
  • At Freddie Mac, the CFO made $3.9 million, and the general counsel/secretary received $5.1 million
  • In all, the top six executives made $35.4 million. Meanwhile, total losses at the two companies could reach $363 billion through 2013, according to government estimates.

So who just keeps on authorizing these huge bonuses for the wholesale theft and abuse of taxpayer dollars? What the Federal Housing Authority  bureaucrats of course! Why does this kind of taxpayer dollar theft continue?  It is called Crony-Capitalism and is explained in detail here.

The stated mission of the FHFA responsible for this kind of fraud would be laughable, if not for the seriousness of this longtime Fannie and Freddie theft of taxpayer dollars. Their mission is *supposed* to be, to ensure that the fat-cat bonuses paid out to Senior execs at Fannie and Freddie are “reasonable.”   The taxpayers are on the hook for a total of $363 Billion dollars through 2013, and they give over $35 billion dollars to the people perpetuating this fraud under the guise of it being “reasonable?”  The FHFA Inspector general now says that Fannie and Freddie should install written criteria and procedures for performance evaluation in order to figure out what bonuses, if any, would be “reasonable” for these crony-capitalists. Oh Really? Why in the hell isn’t that type of system already in place ? So they just take $35 million tax dollars in bonuses, with no system in place to see if they actually earned it, and Congress is sitting on their hands letting this continue for decades.

Darrell Issa is the chairman of the House Government oversight committee, and where is he on this “oversight” of executive bonuses at Fannie and Freddie?  I am getting sick and tired of all these theatrical investigations in Congress that NEVER end up accomplishing a damn thing!  There is no stoppage of the theft of tax dollars over at Fannie and Freddie, even though we have seen what,  30, 40, or 50 so-called ” investigations ? ” If any action is ever taken, it is so ludicrous that it hurts me to even type it, such as giving someone a $50,000 fine for stealing 3 or 4 million in tax dollars.

U.S. taxpayers are on the hook for over $363 BILLION dollars through 2013, thanks to the corrupt fatcats over at Fannie and Freddie. Those same crony-capitalistic thieves were rewarded for their incompetence/ corruption with over $35 million dollars of your hard earned money. Think about that, as you write out that income tax payment check this month.

Mafia-Style Stealth Taxation Without Representation: Meet the VMT

CBO issues report saying that a new Vehicle Mileage Tax, (VMT) is needed to increase funding for our transportation infastructure to offset a shortage of highway maintenance funding.

The picture to the left reminds me of a snapshot taken during the shooting of the Godfather movie, where all the made men are getting their marching orders from the Don. The shot exudes arrogance and a total lack of Presidential decorum, let alone a total disrespect for the historic desk The Chosen One has his Marxist feet propped up on. People rightfully say we should respect our President today, yet when I see things like this, I give the person behind the situation exactly what it calls out for: Disrespect. Contempt. Disgust. Ridicule. Exposure. If the shoe fits, wear it Mr. President. Respect is earned in my world, no matter what third world country comes before America when discussing your hyphenated heritage,  such as *African-American*.

The VMT report has to have an origin, or as in the Godfather, someone had to give the order for such a report to be made, calling for more stealth taxation being hoisted upon the backs of American taxpayers. The simplistic puppet Ray Lahood, the Transportation Secretary, surely didn’t cook this rehash of an old money grab scheme up all by himself here. No, in fact this VMT scheme has the Marxist DNA of the Supreme Community Organiser in Chief  drenched all over it. This is big government intrusion to the tenth degree folks, not to mention it is simply more taxation without representation. They want to track your vehicle every time you get into it, and to make is so expensive to drive your vehicle that everyone moves into the urban jungles that Obama loves to do his community organising in. This isn’t about economics, as the Don has ordered the CBO to use as a basis for this *report*. This report is more propaganda than it is actual statistics being used for a reality-based report. This *report* is simply another attempt at trying to “nudge” the dumbed-down sheep up in D.C., and the American public, to enhance the power and scope of big daddy government.

Transportation funding is tight right now according to Kent Conrad, the big spending, more taxation Democrat from North Dakota. who also happens to be the Senate Budget Committee Chairman. By the way Mr. Conrad, how is out budget resolution for 2011 coming along?  Seems to me you could use some lessons in prioritising your work schedule and your actual duties in our Senate, instead of just working on ways to tax the people more. You see, while the current group of eco-friendly green energy fraudsters are trying to force everyone to drive electric cars, they forgot to figure in the loss of revenue that will be incurred from the decrease in gas-tax revenue. Oh what a tangled web we weave.  Conrad himself said this in an article here.

Conrad said in response that federal funds are tight, and in asking for recommendations on how to raise that money, he noted the possibility of a VMT tax as a way to solve the problem of collecting less in taxes as people move to more fuel-efficient vehicles.

“Do we do gas tax?” Conrad asked. “Do we move to some kind of an assessment that is based on how many miles vehicles go, so that we capture revenue from those who are going to be using the roads who aren’t going to be paying any gas tax, or very little, with hybrids and electric cars?”

We can’t actually have Americans saving the money we promised then they would save when we pushed them to drive electric cars can we ? No, we have to find another way to tax them,  thus the VMT scheme. If transportation funds are so tight, explain to the people why Ray LaHood, on marching orders from Don Obama tried to cram the high-speed rail down the throats of Floridians recently? When Governor Scott asked if he could use that Federal tax money, which belongs to the people by the way, not D.C. Tyrants, to fix existing roadways and/or bridges, he was told emphatically, NO! Oh what a tangled web we weave.

So, transportation funds are tight, yet instead of using existing funding to shore up our roadways, Don Obama is ordering Capo LaHood to use that transportation cash to push for high-speed rail boondoggles that will be an endless drain on taxpayer’s wallets for decades to come. High speed rail is not applicable to over 95% of America due to a little thing called population density. One way to “nudge” the people to live in the urban jungles that I call the over-populated ghettos of the inner-city, is to charge them for every single mile they drive, thus the VMT scheme. I also note that not one single government “expert” has had the guts to discuss whether the heavy gas tax would be done away with completely if this VMT scheme was to be implemented. The fact is, the government has a pattern of  calling  for an implementation period at the very least, where most people will be double-taxed to drive their vehicles. From the same article above here is the proof of that statement.

CBO’s report stressed it was making no recommendations but seemed to support a VMT tax as a more accurate way of having drivers pay for the costs of highway maintenance. The report said miles driven is a larger factor in highway repairs than fuel consumption and suggested that having drivers pay for the real costs of highways “would involve imposing a combination of fuel taxes and per-mile charges.

Notice the double taxation there being called a combination?  No recommendations are being made by the CBO ?  Then why the info-mercial report calling for the VMT ? As the Don said many times in the Godfather, “Just find a way to get it done without it being tracked back to me.”

Watch our for this VMT tax raise to come up in Congress very soon folks, as Don Obama sees it as a way to raise taxes that can’t be traced back to him. call  and write your Representatives proactively, and tell them to stop this scheme before it steamrolls over us completely. Ask then

Budgetary Boondoggle: Round 6

In an article posted here at CDN on Feb. 14th titled, “Upcoming Budget: Nowhere to Run*,  I explained how I could see that our current Congress would not be able to even come close to passing a responsible budget for 2011 fiscal year. Looking at today’s news headlines, this budget boondoggle is following along exactly as I stated it would. Today the House passed the sixth Continuing Resolution budget in a row to temporarily fund our government. Here we are approaching the half way point in fiscal year 2011, and we are still basically running our government on a blank check drawn on the taxpayers account!  No accountability will ever come out of the last four and a half years of trillion dollar deficits within our government, all because the people are letting this farce of a budget battle continue to play out like a cheap failed soap opera of the 60’s. No budget basically means no way to keep spending in check and hold these tyrants in D.C. accountable for their actions.

We recently saw the complete overthrow of the government of Egypt because the people were damned tired of tyrannical rulers sitting on gold toilets while 3/4 of the country went hungry, to sum it up in a nutshell. Meanwhile here in America the exact same thing is being done on a much grander scale, yet the people are pretty much silent. Congress is paid to do a job, and that job is to basically run the Federal Government, to produce leglislation to protect the people and businesses fairly, and last but not least, is to ensure that the taxpayer’s money is spent fairly and wisely. Ask yourself one simple question, “Is Congress doing their job as it is laid out by our Constitution today?”  Then why isn’t there a national calling to shut down the government and hold Congress accountable? The self-serving tyrants in D C will just keep on spending us into bankruptcy until the people stop giving them the money to do so. It is that simple.

No taxation without proper representation, period.

In 1974, Congress passed what was then called The Congressional Budget Act.*  This also spawned what we now know as The Congressional Budget Office. The CBO was created as an unbiased accounting office to supply Congress with economic data to help them draw up budget resolutions, and compile economic data projections for other proposed legislation to be based upon. The original Congressional Budget Act of 1974 has been amended several times, including in 1985, 1990, and 1997. The basic budget process can be seen here from wordiq.com* which summarizes the process nicely: (emphasis mine)

The President’s Budget

The budget process begins in February with the submission of the President’s budget. According to the act, the budget is due on the first Monday in February. At this stage, the budget is not binding but merely constitutes an extensive proposal of the administration’s intended spending for the following fiscal year. In addition to the actual proposal, the President submits volumes of supporting the information intended to persuade Congress of the necessity and value of the budget provisions. In addition to the President, each independent agency also submits its own budget proposal which will be incorporated into the final version of the budget.

Budget Resolution

The next step is the drafting of a budget resolution. The resolution is drafted concurrently by the House and the Senate budget committees. Following the traditional calendar, by early April both committees finalize their drafts and submit it to the respective floors for consideration and adoption. ( today is march 16th 2011, right around the corner)

Once both houses pass the resolution, a conference report is drafted by members of the Senate and the House. The purpose of the conference report is to reconcile any differences that may exist between the House and the Senate versions. Usually, the conference report is adopted finalizing the budget resolution.

In contrast to most legislation passed by Congress, the budget resolution is a concurrent resolution and thus does not become law and does not require the signature of the President. As a result, no money has actually been appropriated at that point. The budget resolution then serves as a blue print for the actual appropriation process.

Fast forward to today, where the House GOP leadership  has proposed their budget resolution with the very necessary cuts in government spending that will be needed to avoid raising our debt ceiling to over $15 trillion dollars.  The house Democrats  say no, we will not approve anyserious spending cuts, and threaten to let the government shut down if they are not allowed to keep on spending us into financial Armageddon. Meanwhile, the game goes on, with the basically illegal Continuing Resolutions being passed again and again to avoid any semblance of accountability in how our tax dollars are being spent. When do the people say enough is enough here? April 15th is tax day, when millions of Americans go to write out that big fat tax payment check to the IRS, they should stop for one second and ask themselves one simple question: ” Is this taxation without proper representation? ”

Our dysfunctional Congress just passed the sixth continuing budget resolution in a row, with no firm budget resolution in sight! I normally recommend that people call their representatives and demand some sanity at this point in my articles. The people spoke up loud and clear against big government, Egyption-style self servancy and tyrannical spending in the 2010 elections, and have been speaking up ever since. In reading the above information, does it look like our representatives are listening ?  Think about that come April 15th, when you write that IRS payment check out soon. The way this is going, it will be double that amount next year and probably more.

Just take this last item:  In the last two years we have accumulated national debt at a rate more than 27 times as fast as during the
rest of our entire nation’s history.  Over 27 times as fast.  Metaphorically speaking, if you are driving in the right lane doing 65 MPH
and a car rockets past you in the left lane. 27 times faster, it would be doing 7,555 MPH!

I am a  firm believer in the saying that numbers do not lie, folks. We are in big trouble here and Obama’s recent fake budget proposal could very well finish off Americas economy. Thus the importance of supporting our representatives in Congress and our State Governors, in their quest to install some fiscal sanity into our country today.

Whitehouse Ignores the Rule of law, refuses to report on Fannie and Freddie once again!

The Whitehouse continues to stall on reforming the money train known as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, even though they are breaking their own so-called Financial Reform, ( also known as the Dodd-Frank Bill) laws to do it. This article is a part of the continuing exposure of the fraud, corruption and waste of taxpayer dollars by the F&F (Fannie and Freddie) club here at CDN.*

While decades of fraud, corruption and shifty accounting practices have been exposed within the F&F club, our elected officials seem content to let it continue, from The Whitehouse, to Congress, and right on down to the U.S.  Treasury Department. Today we see another direct, in your face refusal to address this problem by none other than Obama’s own administration. I stumbled upon this latest act of  criminal behavior yesterday over at National Review Online.** I was stunned by the revelations in this article by Rep. Jeb Hansarling (R-TX).

“The Obama administration failed to release a report today on how Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae could be reformed, despite being required to do so by the Dodd-Frank law passed last summer.

Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R., Texas), who chairs the House Republican Conference, said in a statement that the White House’s failure to meet the deadline made it “crystal clear that the President is not serious about reforming Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.”

As this writer reported earlier here at CDN, the GOP called for reform of the F&F club during the financial reform debate last year. Democrats flat out refused to even allow an amendment that would stop the abuse of taxpayer dollars through Fannie and Freddie. Now we have the Whitehouse, which happens to have approved the Democrats most recent blank check written to the F&F club, also breaking the law that required them to submit the report on how to stop the bleeding here. Amazing.

The Financial Services Committee isn’t too happy about this latest revelation either, as exposed further down in the same National Review Online article:

“Financial Services Committee chairman Spencer Baucus (R., Ala.) also criticized the administration, saying in a statement that “the Democrats always offer an excuse for not meeting deadlines, even those they themselves impose.”

I also mention the U S treasury department in my opening paragraph, and here is what I found at the bottom of the National Review Online article:

” A Treasury Department spokesman told Dow Jones Newswires that the administration hoped to release a report in February.”

Apparently, when it comes to reforming the malfeasance over at Fannie and Freddie, we are left with nothing more than the hope part of Obama’s Hope and Change campaign theme of 2008. There certainly is no change in the fraud, corruption, and outright theft of taxpayers dollars by the corruptocrats in bed with the criminal enterprise over at the F&F club.
