  1. I am so sick of people glorifying celebrities like Whitney Houston just because she was a once popular singer. Yes, everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone has a fortune to blow through to support their drug habits. The only difference between Houston and many other drug addicts is that she didn’t have to resort to living on the street, prostitution,or theft to buy her crack. However, despite her song about “teach the children well” she did manage to raise a daughter who has a history of drug problems. Why are Houston and celebrities like her given hero status when there are millions of others who have died from making bad choices? Because she sang songs and was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and make a career out of singing? Why should we all act as though she made some huge contribution singing when we have soldiers who have fought for this country and actually done something of real value who are suffering and dying from drug problems and living on the street? Yes, we all make bad decisions sometimes, but then we have to deal with the consequences. Houston made horrible decisions over and over and in front of her children. When are we going to learn that we have to take responsibility for our choices in life instead of blaming everyone else. She had it good, and she blew it. Period.

  2. She was NOT on the drugs at the time of her death and the very fact you felt the need to publish the article is DEGRADING to her memory. What?? Her mistakes can’t be wake up call for others?? Are you trying to say WHITNEY HOUSTON isn’t good enough?? Farrrrrrr from the truth. “sick of hearing”?? REALLY?? You’re no better than those disc jockeys who were rightfully suspended for making crude and utterly disparinging remarks about her passing.

  3. Okay, I admit, there were a couple of her songs I liked, and would hum to occasionally. But one thing I notice is everytime a Black entertainer dies, regardless of whether it was by drug overdose or alcohol abuse, or both, and don’t get me wrong she was great, it’s a week before the church service is over.

But I can remember several White entertainers who were much greater than Whitney and I don’t remember as much as a mention about their passing on TV or long winded funerals, and let’s mention most of these people never used drugs let alone die from overdose, or drown in their own vomit from drinking to much. Amy Winehouse anyone? Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson and on and on we were just so fed up with the acholades about how wonderful a person they were personnally but they had all these emotional problems that we just bleed from the heart about for days and days over their passing.

Well, they wouldn’t have passed if they hadn’t been drug addicts with all the baggage that comes along with it. The missed recording sessions, the fights, arrests for driving like a maniac while under the influence, and on and on. Ohhh, but they were such a great person. Really?? I wouldn’t want my kid following in any of these people’s footsteps. And they’re all mostly Black and an occasional Hispanic or something, but mostly all Black. Like we’re supposed to just accept that since they were Black and were a dope head that’s supposed to something we just accept about those people? I don’t think so.

I don’t recall any of the White actor’s and entertainers who got half the ceremonies on TV or any other place for that matter since none of them were drug addicts or alcoholics let’s not even mention them because they weren’t down with the struggle? Give me a break!!

    • You are so RIGHT,”THE DUKE” John Wayne, wasn’t given hardly any mention ,just that he passed away,I THINK EVERY AMERICAN SOLDIER that has been killed, that their funeral should be televised,if they can do her’s a drug addict, and LORD HAVE MERCY on us,when Oprah Winfrey dies.Tireds of all the bull,WHAT ABOUT THE TRUE natives, the AMERICAN INDIANS,if anyone is owed anything it is them,Go to any daeptartment of social services for every one white person there are 20 blacks,(DOING NOTHING)same at most Veteran Hospitals,or anything ran by the goverment, now muslims, she was on drugs ,but yet we aren’t to say MERRY CHRISTMAS,GOD BLESS YOU,Christmas is the BIRTH OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR,who dies for us ALL,what did Michael Jackson or ,Whitney Houston,Jesse Jackson,Al Sharpton,or Martin Luther King do for us NOTHING.THE WORLD is crazy,Gas prices going up,Iran making nuke weapons, they are wanting to attack Isreal, and they put her funeral on all news station for 4 hours,ARE THE RATINGS worth it,I think NOT,enough is enough,Thanks

      • You said it! I lost ALL respect for her after hearing she did drugs in front of her daughter. How could anyone feel she deserves anymore attention. Let’s focus on more important things.

  4. Let Hollywood and the billionaire sports people and Oprah give most of their money to help. Let them do it. They need to be given a certain amount of families to provide for – to buy the food stamps for – to clothe, shelter, etc. Get the money from Celine Dion – she could house a lot in her mansions. J-Lo – get her involved. LeBron James – help your bros man.

  5. One of the biggest reasons I started listening to Rush Limbaugh years ago was because he would say out loud what I was thinking.

Well said! I’m so sick of stupid in our society. Where was Jamie Lee Curtis and all these other “friends” of Whitney when she was swallowing the drugs faster than she could buy them? Since this is the first I’ve ever heard of them being friends, not sure I really would have cared anyway.

Thank you so much for having your hand on the pulse of what real Americans think.

  6. Bah. The only thing good Jamie Lee Curtis ever did was Trading Places (unedited).
