From Deep Blue To November Red: How One Democrat Stronghold Portends A Seismic Shift

The Blue State Conservative

How bad are the November elections looking for Democrats? Really, really bad. We’ve all seen the articles and videos of leftwing pundits weighing in on the situation. Moderate Democrats preach that the party needs to move more to the center, while progressives plead for a shift further left.

Throughout the wasteland that is the Democratic Party right now, opinions abound on which remedy is appropriate in trying to avoid what appears to be an imminent avalanche preparing to drop right on top of DNC headquarters this fall. But virtually none of them are doing what truly needs to be done: Taking a long look in the mirror and understanding why they’re in this predicament.

An article in the New York Times published on Friday is just the latest example. With almost 1,500 words dedicated to reporting on the phenomenon of the deep blue state of Nevada being on the verge of turning red, the Times’ piece examines a multitude of ‘causes.’

The authors, Jennifer Medina and Reid J. Epstein, offer an intense focus on the impact of the COVID pandemic on the political landscape, particularly its effect on the economy. They lament the December death of former Democratic Senator Harry Reid and the vacuum of leadership that followed. They discuss the transient nature and diverse population of Nevada. And they even find a way of working former president Donald Trump into the mix, pointing to a decline in the interest of politics since he left office.

But, like so many others on the left, they fail to examine or even consider the real problem with the Democratic Party… Its agenda.

Therefore, since we conservatives are truly the compassionate ones in our society, and since we’re always willing to lend a helping hand, let’s give some assistance to the leftwing talking heads who are either unwilling or unable to recognize the root cause of the Democrats’ looming electoral disaster. Here are four clear problems with Democrats and their agenda:

  1. Identity Politics: Democrats have targeted minority voters for years, including Hispanics, but their support is evaporating before their eyes. A poll in late January showed that only 28% of Hispanic voters approve of President Joe Biden’s job performance. Because while Democrats focus on identity politics and count on folks to vote according to skin color, gender (what’s that?), and sexual orientation, ultimately minority voters will act as individuals, just like everyone else.
  2. Dismissing Reality: The most obvious example of this issue is the economy. Joe Biden tries to blame our skyrocketing inflation on Vladimir Putin, even though it began long before Russia started acting up. He blames oil companies, Trump, and almost anyone but himself for out-of-control gas prices, despite openly kowtowing to the climate agenda of an eighteen-year-old Swedish girl. And everyone can see the economy is in tatters while Biden and his media insist that it’s “booming.” Gaslighting might work occasionally if used sparingly, but not if it’s used at these levels.
  3. Worries on weakness: Democrats can try and pretend they didn’t support the Defund the Police movement, but voters aren’t stupid; well, most, anyway. As our streets become increasingly less safe, the Democrats’ soft-on-crime mindset is the obvious cause. And Biden’s unapologetically weak display in Afghanistan last summer has produced international panic with Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea ready to fill the power void Democrats have left behind. We’re less safe at home and abroad, and Democrats are the reason why.
  4. Pissing off parents: Never in American history have parents been viewed as a voting bloc, but they are now, thanks to Democrats’ open disdain for them. Terry McAuliffe got his ass kicked last November due largely to his dismissal of parents having any say in their kids’ education. The parental rights bill that was recently signed into law in Florida has been attacked by Democrats as the “Don’t Say Gay Bill,” choosing to be on the side of opposing parental rights rather than supporting them. Democrats can play their word games all they want while simultaneously undermining parents, be eventually even liberal moms and dads are going to choose a side, and that side will be with their children, not with radical Democrats.

The Times’ piece documents the remarkable shift away from Democrats in voter registration in Nevada, dropping from 39.4% to 33.6% of registered voters since 2016. That means the Democrats have lost 15% of their ‘market share’ in a little over five years. And while voters are struggling to find a way to fill up their gas tanks and put food on their tables amid Bidenflation, they tune their televisions to see a Democratic Supreme Court nominee who’s unable to define what a “woman” is.

Virtually all Americans care about our environment, but we’re not willing to destroy our lives in an effort that would have minuscule success is protecting it. Virtually all Americans have compassion for those dealing with mental issues, but we’re not about to pretend that men can be women and vice-versa just to make those folks feel better about themselves. And virtually all Americans despise the idea of going to war, but we also realize that peace through strength, not weakness, is the only real way to avoid it.

The reason why Democrats are going to get clobbered in seven months is that their policies don’t work. Leftist economic policies are devastating. Woke social policies are insane. And timid foreign policies are highly dangerous.

If Democrats want to avoid complete electoral annihilation in the coming months and years, they need to reboot. Fast. They need to knock it off with the identity politics. They need to accept reality instead of pissing on our heads and telling us it’s raining. They need to show some backbone when standing against crime and foreign adversaries. And they need to realize that when governments try to go around parents and after their kids, those parents are going to fight like hell.

Get with it, Democrats.

  1. One of the Dems big problems is that they believe the 2020 election results. They ‘have’ the congress and the presidency. But did they truly win the hearts and minds of the American people? And that the voters truly came out and supported Biden in record numbers? If the voters did then the Dems would not be ‘losing” the country. However, if this is not the case (and there is ample evidence to support this) the Dems never really had the country to ‘lose’.

I realize that talking about the ‘stolen’ election is taboo, however, here is an interesting inside baseball stat that’s not well known. Karl Rove on the night of the election called Trump to congratulate him on his victory. Why? Karl Rove knows the electoral system inside and out and he is aware that there are 17 precincts around the country that have successfully predicted the president for the past 100 years. In each election, a minimum of 14 of these 17 precincts have gone for the president. Karl Rove knew this, among other indicators, and thus was confident enough to call Trump to congratulate him on his victory. In both the 2016 and 2020 election 16 of these 17 precincts went for Trump.
