The United States is sending the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier to join other U.S. warships in fending off the Iranian Navy near Yemen.
Iran is sending ships to Yemen in order to supply and support the Houthi rebels taking over the country. Today, the U.S. has announced that it is bulking up it’s fleet in the region to prevent the Iranians from providing aid.
The Houthis have been fighting government-backed defenders as they seek to take over Yemen.
Iran has been financially and logistically supporting the Houthi rebels as it seeks to cement its power base in the region.
