Biden Says US Is Prepared To Issue Visa Bans Against ‘Extremists’ Who Attack Palestinians In West Bank

President Joe Biden said in a Saturday Washington Post op-ed that the U.S. was prepared to issue visa bans against Israeli settler “extremists” attacking targets in the West Bank.

Israel continues to launch airstrikes and increase its ground assault in Gaza in an effort to root out Hamas, which killed over 1,200 Israelis and kidnapped hundreds of civilians in mass terrorist attacks on Oct. 7. Biden called for a “two-state solution” amid the conflict on Saturday, and also suggested that both Gaza and the West Bank should be consolidated under a single governance structure, while threatening to issue visa bans against “extremists attacking civilians” in the latter region, according to the Post.

“As we strive for peace, Gaza and the West Bank should be reunited under a single governance structure, ultimately under a revitalized Palestinian Authority, as we all work toward a two-state solution,” Biden wrote in the op-ed on Saturday. “I have been emphatic with Israel’s leaders that extremist violence against Palestinians in the West Bank must stop and that those committing the violence must be held accountable.”

“The United States is prepared to take our own steps, including issuing visa bans against extremists attacking civilians in the West Bank,” Biden wrote.

Biden called for enhanced support for Palestinian civilians during the Israel-Hamas conflict, according to the Washington Post. He also called on the “international community” to step in to aid Gaza and provide “interim security” and “reconstruction measures” for the region in the aftermath of the Israel-Hamas conflict.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

  1. The whole idea that Israel occupies Palestinian land is a distorted lie. There never was a Palestinian state. The Romans renamed Judea (the ancestorial home of all Jews) , Palestine (Palestina to be exact), after they kicked the Jews out of Jerusalem that had been their home for thousands of years since the beginning of recorded history. Since then, the name of Palestine appeared as an area on maps because it changed hands so many times and was simply a generic term for a place on map that changed hands constantly. The area of Palestine was occupied variously after the Romans by several muslim caliphates, the Crusaders, the Ottoman Empire and finally by the British and was never a state. Egypt claimed the area know as the Gaza Strip and Jordan claimed the West Bank when Israel was created as as state in 1948 by the United Nations after the Holocaust and World War II. Israel took Gaza and the West Bank from Egypt and Jordan after they were attacked by Egypt, Jordan, and Syria in 1967 in what is known as “the six day war”. “Palestinians” is simply the relatively new invented name of Arabs from various states that resided in the Gaza Strip after the war.

But perhaps the biggest lie is that establishing a Palestinian state would solve the problem. When President Clinton tried to broker a deal at Camp David in 2000 for the Israelis to give up the Gaza Strip and 97% of the West Bank to the Palestinians to form a Palestinian state it failed. It failed because Yasser Arafat (the head of the PLO at the time) refused the deal. And that was before the PLO was controlled by Hamas. Nevertheless in an effort to create peace, the Israelis ceded the Gaza Strip to the Palestinians in 2005 and removed all of their military and 23 “settlements”. And look what their capitulation has wrought. In 2006, the Palestinians themselves ELECTED Hamas to be in control of the Gaza Strip and their charter calls for the complete destruction of Israel. So no matter what the PLO, or Arabs, or anti-Semitic Democrats or ignorant college students tell you; there never was a Palestinian state, they refused to form a separate state and they only want to destroy Israel.
