DeSantis Gets a Theme Song from Van Zant Brothers
Governor Ron DeSantis just got his own theme song courtesy of two music legends.
Johnny Van Zant, lead singer of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Donnie Van Zant of 38 Special co-wrote “Sweet Florida” and presented it to the governor in person.
Johnny told Fox and Friends Friday that DeSantis had told him that he was going to run for re-election which gave Van Zant the idea to create something special.
The song was composed in just a few hours and originally recorded on an iPhone so the brothers could send it to DeSantis quickly.
“We’ve never done that before…and we took a chance,” they explained.
The pair then re-recorded it in their studio (the mix above.)
“Sweet Florida” is available on Spotify, Apple Music and the music video is posted on sweetfloridasong.com.
