Charity collection site GoFundMe has stopped taking donations for the Canadian Freedom Convoy truckers and what they plan to do with $9 million in donations will make your blood boil.
First, because Canadian authorities informed GoFundMe that the Canadian Freedom Convoy was engaging in “an occupation” the charity site removed the fundraiser.
“Following a review of relevant facts and multiple discussions with local law enforcement and city officials, this fundraiser is now in violation of our Terms of Service (Term 8, which prohibits the promotion of violence and harassment) and has been removed from the platform,” the company wrote in a blog post.
GoFundMe didn’t stop there. Next, they informed donors that their $9 million in remaining funds would never get to the truckers and instead be sent to charities that GoFundMe approves of.
It took only minutes for calls to surface demanding people defund GoFundMe and for donors to immediately request refunds or issue chargebacks through the card companies.
UPDATE: 2/5/22: GoFundMe has changed its stance on refunds after significant blowback from their public statement. All donated funds will be automatically returned to donors:
“To simplify the process for our users, we will be refunding all donations to the Freedom Convoy 2022 fundraiser. This refund will happen automatically—you do not need to submit a request. Donors can expect to see refunds within 7-10 business days.
The update we issued earlier enabled all donors to get a refund and outlined a plan to distribute remaining funds to verified charities selected by the Freedom Convoy organizers. However, due to donor feedback, we are simplifying the process and automatically refunding donations.”
Next, another funding firm stepped up and said they would take donations and get them to the Freedom Convoy:

Trudeau could have used this event to meet with the masses, quell the crowds and come to some kind of an agreement. He could have, but didn’t because he is a eunuch with no stones. I wonder what color lipstick he uses?
I am sure this is illegal. Promise a couple of smart attorneys a good amount of recovered money and go for the jugular of Go Fund Me. I will never put another dollar into them regardless of the cause. They are woke, shady, and on the wrong side of history. Let’s put them out of business! Make this the WORST business decision they ever made. If we went and collected money in the name of Jerry’s Kids, telling all the donors that the money was going to be used by them and turned around and gave the money to the Ronald McDonald House, we would be under the jail. As should they. If we start a Go Fund Me page for someone and then keep the money, we go to jail. Why the hell do they get different rules?
I am so tired of these woke companies thinking they can enact judgment on us. Rules for thee but not for me BS! Elite douchebags! This is not Go Fund Me’s first rodeo doing this to people, they have done it several times. I don’t know how the cases have turned out. Probably slow walked through the court system to where it will be years before anyone gets a judgment. These sleazebags should be required to prove their claims, and how the hell can they just take money that was not given to them but entrusted to them to collect and disperse according to the cause?
