Former President Donald Trump Thursday harshly criticized the current administration’s failures at the border, on the economy, and in foreign affairs.
In a statement released at the same time that President Biden and Vice President Harris made their speeches on the events of January 6, 2021, Trump said that the nation may have lost its confidence due to the ineptitude of the current administration.
“Due to inept leadership that gave us open borders, COVID incompetence, loss of energy independence, a military in chaos, rampant inflation, corrupt elections, and lack of world standing, our Nation, perhaps for the first time, has lost its confidence!”
With inflation at record highs, gas prices much higher than a year ago, a continuing supply chain crisis, illegal aliens flooding across the border, and a pandemic that never seems to end, Trump’s comments ring true to working families.
About an hour later, Trump issued another statement:
“Biden is working hard to try and deflect the incompetent job he is doing, and has done, on the horrible Afghanistan withdrawal (surrender), the Borders, COVID, Inflation, loss of Energy Independence, and much more. Everything he touches turns to failure. That’s what you get when you have a rigged Election.”
But Biden and Harris had nothing positive say about their own leadership. Kamala’s speech likened the January 6th events to Pearl Harbor while Biden called it a “knife to the throat of Democracy.”
We are surely in for a full day, and perhaps more, of speeches, comments and soundbites about the events at the Capitol a year ago. The media needs it, and Democrats need something to rescue them from an apocalyptic 2022 election result.
