Diplomatic boycott just as worthless as Joe Biden’s presidency
On Monday, the Biden regime announced that they would not allow any US diplomats to attend the Olympic Games in Beijing, China. The diplomatic boycott comes amid what the White House called ‘atrocities’ according to Reuters.
While there needed to be a response to China’s continued human rights violations and the recent acts to punish tennis star Peng Shuai, simply a diplomatic boycott does nothing to China. It is an absolutely worthless act, just like Joe Biden’s presidency.
If the US wanted to respond to China’s actions, they should have done something that would actually hurt the nation. A great example was the WTA’s actions to completely cancel all events in China. That is better than simply deciding to keep a bunch of politicians at home.
Sen. Ted Cruz suggested that withdrawing from the Olympics completely was probably the right move, but that doing so would punish the athletes. Perhaps Biden and his regime should have talked to those Olympic teams.
I understand that these athletes have trained and put a lot of effort into their Olympic dreams. Is that worth more than the proper treatment of people? Does winning an award for a sporting competition that will not change anything about our world mean more than human rights?
If you answered yes to that question, perhaps you belong as a member of the Biden regime.
Very few people have spoken out on the issue with the right answer. The right answer is to take a strong stand against the CCP, but I have yet to see someone with the right answer. Mike Pompeo, former Secretary of State, had this to say.
While Pompeo may have said to take a stand, he still stopped short of the right answer. The right answer is to walk away from the Olympics and walk away from any relationship with China. This is about something far more important than diplomacy, it’s about the very thing that we claim we stand for.
Our Declaration says, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” China continues to commit humanitarian crimes that prohibit any of its citizens from pursuing life, liberty, or happiness.
Let’s be honest though, how can we expect anyone to take us seriously on the world stage with our current leadership. We have a demented President who cannot make a sentence without his handlers guidance. We have congressional leadership that would rather be focused on making you government-dependent than protecting your freedom.
We are in a country that is arguing over the value of human life in our nation’s highest court. We argue that life is only valuable if it is not an inconvenience. It seems that not only have we taken this stance with the unborn, but also with those around the world.
Have we truly arrived at the point that our nation believes that no life is valuable?
