Don’t Like the Flag? Take Off the Uniform

How do you explain why 500,000 people have risked their lives to travel thousands of miles to cross a dangerous river and enter our country illegally? Why would they leave their homes to come to a country that is so racist that some of our citizens are so disgusted that they feel the need to protest her? Why come to a country with an anthem or a flag that triggers anger in so many people? Yet, they are doing so because they recognize the opportunity this country has to offer. Those who continue to turn their backs on this country look foolish. Those who turn their backs are seen as ungrateful and disrespectful. Those who turn their backs do not represent the millions of Americans who love this country. We are tired of these malcontents, and they can leave anytime they like.

Here is a recap on the latest antics of a self-centered and disrespectful athlete competing to be a member of the US Olympic Team. Gwen Berry hates this country so much but wants to represent her in the Summer Games in Japan. Hypocritical? Can it be any more so?

This recap of Berry’s podium performance at the Olympic trials appeared in the NY Post:

A US hammer thrower turned away from the American flag as the national anthem played while she and two other athletes stood on the podium at the Olympic trials Saturday, later saying she was “pissed” that “The Star-Spangled Banner” played as she received her bronze medal.

Gwen Berry — who qualified for her second US Olympic team during the trials — shifted to face the stands rather than the flag before holding up a black shirt that read, “Activist Athlete.”

“I feel like it was a setup, and they did it on purpose,” Berry said of the anthem being played. “I was pissed, to be honest.

“They had enough opportunities to play the national anthem before we got up there,” Berry said in Oregon, where the trials are being held. “I was thinking about what I should do. Eventually, I stayed there and I swayed, I put my shirt over my head.

Despite her own questionable antics while her nation’s anthem played, Berry called out the Olympic trial organizers as being inappropriate — to her. “It was real disrespectful,” she said.

Gwen, take off the uniform, Take off the flag. Take your attitude and hit the road. Real Americans are sick of tantrums like the one you just played out. By the way, take your protest tee shirt with you. What is amazing about these misguided fools is that they cannot explain why they hate America.

It is easy for folks like this to resort to descriptive terms like racist, sexist, xenophobic, imperialist, genocidal, homophobic, obsessed with money, and morally inferior to most Western European countries. Great collection of negative descriptives, but can any of these folks give you specific examples-NO? Of course not. This movement is a continuation of Colin Kapernick’s sideline kneeling from a few years ago. This anti-American activity has run its course in the NFL. A drop in viewership and revenue has a way of doing that. Narcissists like Berry will feel this same impact. She will have her moment in the spotlight, and then she will fade like a bad memory. We do not want to hear from these folks any longer. Their protests have exposed themselves as blind hatred, and we have no time for them.

If these athletes want to turn the Olympics into the NBA, keep it up. Doing so and you will be performing for your family and a few close friends. But, even they may tire of your antics and tantrums.

Hey Berry, you don’t deserve any respect. You give none you get none. That’s how it works.

I hope no one watches this idiot.
