What evil could lurk in a vaccine passport barcode
If President Joe Biden’s forehead or wrist were scanned, would you find a bar code proving he’s been vaccinated against coronavirus? What else could be added to the barcode?
WebMD says a vaccine passport is only proof that you’ve tested negative for or been protected against certain infections. It can be digital, like a phone app, or physical, such as a small paper card. You can carry it with you and show it if required, like before you go into the office, board an airplane, or visit a restaurant, movie theater or gym.
There is already a black market for the cards, so Big Brother must logically turn to a phone app. President Biden has issued an executive order that asks federal agencies to look into the possibility.
The World Bank called on governments to work together to implement standardized, cost-effective identity management solutions in 2015. A report noted about 1.8 billion adults around the world lacked any kind of official documentation. Its solution was Accenture’s Biometric Identity Management System (BIMS).
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) plans to use biometric technology to identify and track refugees. BIMS can personal identity information which provides many refugees with their only form of official documentation.
The Philippines have a centralized identification system called the “Philippine Identification System” or “Philsys.” Supposedly, Philsys is a tamper-proof ID that will house a smart chip that contains unique information associated with a person like his biometrics, iris scan, facial image reception code and many other distinguishing features.
Other government-issued identification numbers such social security, healthcare, passport number, voter’s registration, tax Identification Number (TIN) and driver’s license number, are associated with the person’s identity
The United Nations announced plans to have biometric identification cards in the hands of every single man, woman and child by the year 2030. Two of the goals of #Envision2030 Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions | United Nations enable the UN hopes to, provide legal identity for all, including birth registration.
It also wants to ensure public access to information and protect fundamental freedoms, under national legislation and international agreements. The plan was released in 2015.
