CBP Field Operations Arrests Reynosa Man with $1.3 Million Worth of Methamphetamine at Hidalgo International Bridge

HIDALGO, Texas — U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Hidalgo International Bridge arrested a 25-year-old man, a U.S. citizen who resides in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico after discovering $1,378,000 worth of alleged methamphetamine within the vehicle he was driving.

“Our officers’ excellent inspection skills and observation techniques have allowed us to make this exceptional seizure,” said Carlos Rodriguez, Port Director, Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas. “Smugglers will utilize all kinds of methods in their attempts to bring drugs across the border and it’s up to us to keep up with those trends and help keep our communities safe.”

  1. The traffic in this area is on the increase……and these seizures are at legal crossings being done by more and more young American citizens !!!! Just imagine what is making it into the counrty at unguarded crossings !!!!

The issue of ILLEGAL trespassing seems to be fading from public concern, increasing the dangers to our law abiding citizens.

Americans living within a few hundres miles of the border are living in freedom shared with FEAR.

In 2009 Center for Immigration Studies estimated that every ILLEGAL working for American dollars sent an average of $750 a month back to their home country while drawing some type of social service. This has creted a drain on services for Americans as well as depriving tax revenue to local communities. Multiply that by the 2006 estimated 11 MILLION ILLEGALS !!!!! (This 11 million figure is still being used now and has greatly increased in 15 years)

WHY aren’t elected officials that allow Sanctuary Cities being arrested and prosecuted for breaking Federal Laws ???? Illegal criminals go out, commit crime and return to their safe havens….WRONG !!!
ANY mayor refusing or hindering ICE should immediately be arrested by Federal Law enforcement!!

    Thanks Rich
