Joe Biden Pans Trump’s Decision To Target And Kill Iran’s Top Military General

Former Vice President Joe Biden said Thursday night that the Trump administration’s airstrike against one of Iran’s top military lieutenants was a rash action that could potentially backfire on the U.S.

President Donald Trump “just tossed a stick of dynamite into a tinderbox,” Biden said in a statement after reports confirmed a U.S. drone strike killed Gen. Qasem Soleimani. “I hope the Administration has thought through the second- and third-order consequences of the path they have chosen.”

Biden did suggest that Soleimani “did deserve to be brought to justice for his crimes against American troops and thousands of innocents throughout the region.” He went on to say that the president “owes the American people an explanation of the strategy and plan to keep safe our troops.”

Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the leader of an Iraqi paramilitary group that attempted to storm the U.S. embassy in Baghdad on Dec. 31, 2019, was also reportedly killed in the drone strike. The Pentagon said in a statement addressing the strike that Soleimani directed the attack on the embassy.

The Pentagon said in a statement Thursday addressing the airstrike that Soleimani was “actively developing plans” to attack American diplomats in Iraq.

Analysts believe that Soleimani’s death could potentially escalate tensions in the Middle East and potentially lead to a war against Iran. The Quds Force have provided supported terrorist groups for years.

  1. Mr. Biden undoubtedly would prefer that we load some more cash on a cargo plane and “pay off” the murderous Iranian regime… Oh…wait. He and President Obama already tried that, and…well, how did that work out? Seems as if Iran gave us and the world a disrespectful salute and continued to develop atomic weapons. Personally, I am much in favor of the biblical admonition to “turn the other cheek” when insulted although I do readily abandon that when and if my family is at risk. BUT…for people, organizations, and countries like Iran, one does run out of cheeks. We absolutely should not start wars or attack people purely for our own gain. But defense of our country and our citizens is NOT STARTING…it is responding. And this President responded to piracy of oil tankers, and shooting down of our drones while in international airspace with a cyber attack as a warning. Result? No diminution of Iran aggressiveness. Iran, through proxies, killed one of our contractors. President Trump attacked the proxies. Iranian response: attack our embassy in Baghdad. So…now, responding to the demonstrated non-existent learning curve of the Iranian leaders, President Trump kills the leader and master strategist of the most violent terror organizations currently existing in the world (ignoring for the moment State players, like China and their imitators), sending the clear message…”CONSEQUENCES!”
