President Donald Trump holds a Make America Great Again rally in Rochester, Minnesota Thursday evening to support U.S. Senate candidate Karin Housley (R) who is hoping to unseat Democrat incumbent Tina Smith.
Smith holds a 7-point lead in the most recent public poll, but Trump’s endorsement and rallies have pushed candidates over the hump in tight districts. Democrats’ mistreatment of Judge Brett Kavanaugh is not reflected in that poll and their actions have energized the Republican base ahead of the November vote. The event comes on the same day that a final FBI report stated that agents could not find any corroborating evidence to support the unsubstantiated claims of sexual misconduct against Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
