Pastor: Trump ‘Probably Going to Be the Most Pro-Black President in Our Lifetime’
President Donald Trump is probably going to be the most pro-black president in our lifetime, according to Pastor Darrell Scott.
Scott’s met Wednesday with President Donald Trump during a White House meeting with inner-city pastors. Scott expressed his gratitude towards the president for helping the inner cities.
“I will say this, this administration has taken a lot of people by surprise … this is probably the most proactive administration regarding urban American and the faith-based community in my lifetime, he said. “To be honest, this is probably going to be the most pro-black president in our lifetime,” said Scott.
Scott also took swipes at former President Barack Obama arguing he felt like he didn’t have anything to prove, he got a pass.
“The last president didn’t feel like he had to. He felt like he didn’t have to prove it. He got a pass. This president is — this administration is probably going to be more proactive regarding urban revitalization and prison reform than any president in your lifetime,” said Scott.
As reported in Breitbart, Bishop Darrell Hines from Milwaukee, Wisconsin said he was also very encouraged by Trump’s support of faith-based initiatives.
“We hear several things, but to know you hear us is an encouraging moment,” he said. “I want to thank you for taking the time to invite us to the White House and then taking the time to hear us concerning our concerns in our community and in our faith, they both need the ear of the president,” said Hines.
Trump’s meeting came as the black unemployment rate has reached a record low under the administration. Trump saw the black unemployment rate fall below 6 percent for the first time. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the black unemployment rate in May came in at 5.9 percent, which is the lowest ever recorded since BLS began tracking the numbers in the 1970s.
