Canadian Op-Ed Opposes Melania’s Attendance of Invictus Games

Some Canadians have been speaking out against first lady Melania Trump‘s scheduled attendance of the Invictus Games in Toronto next month.

In an op-ed for the website Torontoist, Brad Fraser writes, “Melania Trump coming to Canada as an emissary of the Invictus Games is exactly the kind of hypocrisy we don’t need in Canada—or anywhere—at any time.”

He explains that the games are “a win for everyone involved” and allow “thousands of soldiers with life altering disabilities to compete in adaptive sport events.”

However, Fraser claims that “no group has been attacked by [President] Trump as much as people with disabilities.”

The writer adds that Mrs. Trump has spoken out about bullying in the past, but when her husband appeared to lash out at two journalists, she defended him.

First of all, these reporters and anyone who believes this are being manipulated by the Trump hating media. Trump did not make fun of disabled people. I saw the original video of him making that speech describing a reporter’s reaction when he was suddenly caught disagreeing with a former statement he made.

I knew at the time what Trump was doing. He was expressing with hand gestures the reporter’s sudden surprise at being caught and not making fun of his disability. If I can see it why can’t anyone else see it?  Trump didn’t even know the reporter was disabled. Trump has used similar hand gestures before such as with Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz and they are not disabled. I’ve even made gestures like that in expressing someone else’s reactions. I’m sure everyone has at one time or another.

This whole thing started when Trump made a statement about Arabs in Jersey City, New Jersey celebrating after 9/11. The Washington Post had a reporter Serge Kovaleski wrote an article agreeing with Trump. Kovaleski left the Post and went to the New York Times. Several years later when Trump made the statement the Post ended up finding  Kovaleski, now writing for the New York Times, so they could do damage control. Kovaleski predictably tried to backtrack from his 2001 account saying he didn’t remember the details.

Enter Donald Trump’s rally in South Carolina soon thereafter. During the rally Trump pointed all of this out and paraphrased Kovaleski’s backtracking as he impersonated a groveling reporter changing his story under pressure. While he did this, Trump moved his hands around quickly, acting flustered.

The media’s clear implication was that Trump was mocking the way Kovaleski moved his arms. People watching the clip of Trump’s impersonation only knew that Kovaleski was disabled. Thus, they naturally assumed Kovaleski’s disability must be similar to cerebral palsy where he has limited control of his movements and is prone to have muscle spasms or move his arms in jerky motions as Trump was doing at the rally. This is precisely the image the media wanted in people’s minds.

They wanted this to be the story: that Donald Trump knowingly and intentionally mocked the flailing arm motions of someone who can’t control his muscles. They knew this would naturally trigger a visceral reaction of disgust from viewers and outrage amongst the disabled and all decent Americans, many of whom, to this day, think this is exactly what happened.

Soon thereafter, the media revealed still photos of Kovaleski with his right hand in a permanently flexed position downward announcing that he was disabled. The media then shifted from trying to defend their oversight of the 9/11 Post article and instead, with disapproving shocked outrage, accused Trump of mocking a reporter’s disability.

Some liberals went even further and freeze-framed a millisecond of the Trump video at the exact moment when his hand went into a flexed posture. Then they dishonestly put this screen capture side by side with a picture of Kovaleski’s flexed hand. Thus, you saw a photo spread like wildfire over social media with commentary condescendingly and horrifyingly excoriating trump as a monster. This is media manipulation at its’ finest which is what they are continuing today against Trump.

This is just one example of how they are manipulating hatred against Trump.

Kovaleski and trump

The reporters for the Canadian paper are so blinded by their fellow American media’s hatred for Trump they didn’t bother to do any research otherwise they would know the truth that Trump didn’t mock a reporter’s disability. They should be proud to have a woman as beautiful, gracious and classy as Melania attend their games.

I guess they like their American counterparts would rather have has an evil, vicious woman like Hillary who openly defies federal subpoenas and sells nukes(uranium used to make nukes) to Russia to be used against us  be president.

In the meantime Trump is getting a lot done, more than any other president. So while the media concentrates on Russia, Russia, Russia he is continuing to make America great again. I’ve heard this is his strategy, to have the media preoccupied so he can succeed. If so it’s working.

  1. Canadian MSM is just a vassal of American MSM. The same biases are exported/imported by Canadian media and is reflected in TV, Radioo, comedy shows etc. Society does not want the projections which progressives have lined up for our future. We have chosen differently. That is why we support Trumpism and Trump!
