Saudi Arabia executed 47 people. Almost all were Al-Qaeda terrorists, but one was a Shi’ite Cleric – Nimr al-Nimr.
In Iraq, former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki predicted that Nimr’s execution would lead to the downfall of the Saudi government.
Protesters also removed the Saudi flag from the consulate in Mashad.
The Iranian government has threatened that the Saudia Arabian government will pay a heavy price for the execution of the cleric.
