The Fight Against Cyber Jihad

photo: topnews.net.nz

The fight against Islamist Muslim extremism goes far beyond the battlefield of soldiers on the ground. It is more than U.S. law enforcement agencies stopping terror attacks on our home soil, the real battle “for hearts & minds” is on the internet and citizen cyber-warriors are at the forefront.

Through the use of use of leading social media platforms such as Google’s YouTube & BlogSpot, FaceBook &, increasingly Twitter, the Islamist jihadi  are spreading the ideology of global Islamic supremacy, and recruiting young people all over the world to “kill the unbelievers for allah”.

At the forefront of this fight are a dedicated group of grassroots individuals who spend their free time tracking and reporting these various sites, exemplified by the YouTube SmackDown Corps.

I discovered these individuals by accident one day as I was debating with a proclaimed Muslim who believes that Islam is a religion of peace. That is a conversation for another time. It was at that time a person, who shall remain unnamed as he/she continues the fight against cyber Jihad, jumped to my defense. After easily making my point, and it’s not hard, this person told me about the “CJ”, Counter jihadist, and what they do.

They relentlessly comb various blogging and video websites in search of Islamist jihadi wannabe terrorist. Once discovered, they then begin collecting intelligence and tracking their movements. By searching blogs and the people who associate themselves with them, they follow the connections. Recording and reporting on the growing web of terrorism promoting Islamist jihadi.

The problem lies with Google. Google has developed a reputation, or so it would seem, of pandering to these terrorist. At times they can be slow at shutting down these YouTube sites and blogs, if at all.

Senator Joe Lieberman in particular has been vocal about this issue, especially in response to the New York Police Department arresting Jose Pimentel for building a pipe bomb that he planned to use to hurt, and with any success, kill U.S. military personnel.

“TPM obtained a letter sent by Lieberman, chair of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, to Google CEO Larry Page on Tuesday calling for him to make some changes to their policy.

“Pimentel’s Internet activity — both his spreading of bomb-making instructions links and his hate-filled writings — were hosted by Google,” Lieberman wrote.

“On his site Pimentel stated, “People have to understand that America and its allies are legitimate targets in warfare. This includes facilities such as army bases, police stations, political facilities, embassies, CIA and FBI buildings, private and public airports, and all kinds of buildings where money is being made to help fund the war.’ As demonstrated by this recent case, Google’s web hosting site, Blogger is being used by violent Islamist extremists to broadcast terrorist content,” Lieberman continued.”

Lieberman continues “Through your updated YouTube standards, Google has affirmatively stated that terrorist content will not be permitted on some of your sites. I strongly believe that Google should expand that standard to include your other platforms.”

This is Google’s response to Lieberman’s request regarding Youtube videos in 2008. To this date, Google his issued no response regarding  Blogspot.

Psychological warfare is a valuable tool that the Jihadist can use to lure in individuals who can’t seem to find their place in the world. Young males in particular.  Allowing the enemy to use these sites affords them the opportunity to build moral and make people sympathetic to their cause. I urge everyone who reads this to contact their senators and tell them to support Senator Lieberman and keep the pressure on Google to shut these YouTube and blog sites down.

Alec Baldwin Has A Twitter Meltdown; Keder And SooperMexican Get Featured On The Five

Rumor has it that Alec Baldwin had a little bit of a Twitter meltdown last night.  I missed out on it live, but I caught a little bit of it this morning on this website. (check it out; it’s pretty nutty)  The Five, a show with five hosts that comes on at 5pm (get it?), decided to feature some of the meltdown in one of their segments today.  It just so happens that I know and follow two of the tweeters they show Alec Baldwin getting into it with. (@keder and @SooperMexican)  If you’re into conservative politics and snark (and who isn’t?), then you’ll want to check these two guys out for sure.  Watch the video below, and make sure to check out the link above, to catch all the zaniness.

And if you’d like to show support for these brave heroes that went up against one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, be sure to send them love on Facebook or in the comments below.

A Personal Thanksgiving

I wanted to take a moment to relay my state of being this morning in relation to Thanksgiving, and to express my gratitude to some deserving people in my life. If you know me, you know that I am an avid proponent of expressing gratitude on a daily basis, but this Thanksgiving presents me with a unique opportunity to examine why being grateful, as a way of life, is so important to me.

I found myself among the ranks of the unemployed as of yesterday. While it was not entirely unexpected, being suddenly without a steady source of income is stressful, to say the least. Yet, despite what lies ahead for me in facing a job search in this economy, I remain completely grateful for my life. When I relayed the news to my friends and family, I was instantly reminded how much of a support system that I have in them. There were minimal condolences, and much asking about prospects and affirmations of my ability to overcome. There were reminders that these people would do all that they could to help and that I would never want for the basics in life. When I posted about it on Twitter, I was flooded by empathy, sympathy and offers to assist. For the most part, the people taking the time to express their support are total strangers to me. They are people that I have never met, never talked to beyond political discussion or the random light hearted conversation in 140 characters. I am beyond grateful, and not at all surprised. My followers on Twitter and my friends on Facebook are, without a doubt, the shining example of true compassion that many like to say doesn’t exist in the Conservative realm of political activists. Deniers be damned; I see it every.single.day.

I was raised, like so many of my Twitter and Facebook friends, to depend on myself and to turn to family and friends if the need should arise. I was not raised to seek a handout or to give up responsibility during the more difficult moments in life. I have grown up knowing that I am the only one who controls my actions and reactions to the trials in life. I am thankful to have been so empowered and to have chosen to live my days keeping that responsibilty and its impact in the forefront of my mind at all times.

In particular, I am eternally grateful for my parents for instilling that sense of responsibility and sense of security that comes with a family that loves one another across great distances. I am grateful to my ex-husband for continuing to be a real friend and a source of daily encouragement and support. The Conservative Daily News staff is daily inspiration to me! These amazing people are dedicated to their lives, their families, their careers.. and to you, our readers. They are passion for freedom and propserity, embodied and exhibited in the extra time they take and effort they make to write for YOU!

I am ever mindful, and very often reminded, of the support I have from my online friends. I am taking this space to say a very warm “THANK YOU!” to Loren Heal (@lheal on twitter) for not only being a daily source of inspiration to me and many in #tcot, but for thinking of me so specifically yesterday. Loren and I have never met, and yet he has gone out of his way to encourage and offer his assistance in helping me in my job search. I am overwhelmed at his generosity!

Happy Thanksgiving, friends and strangers. May each and every one of you find yourself as blessed and as empowered in your every day as I am! #OccupyGrateful

Having Fun With Michael Moore… On Twitter

Disclaimer:  In the interest of originality, this piece on Michael Moore will have no fat jokes.  Enjoy.

This past weekend, Michael Moore made the mistake of asking this question:

Gee... I wonder what kind of responses this got.

Well, anyone that remembers the Attack Watch thing should know that you ought to be careful what you ask for.  Scroll down this page and see what kind of responses the Oscar winning film maker got.

This is stellar advice.

Don't encourage him. He'll only make a documentary about what "terrible slave owners" our founding fathers were...

He actually did that once. He ended up making a dishonest documentary and glorifying Comumnism.

Strangely enough, some of them asked if you could, instead, admnister a "poop" test.

This is probably a reference to overtaxing our citizens. Or a reference to cosplay. If you have to, go Google "cosplay".

Ah... Similar to the first repsonse, but I still like it.

And finally... Sombody get this man a clairvoyance award, because I think he's onto something.

I just love when celebrities yap on twitter.  It gives us common folk a chance to interact with them. (and to tell them what idiots they are)

What do you think?  Were these tweeters too hard on Michael Moore?  Or did he have it coming?  (if he’s such a big, smart documentary maker, he had to see this coming… right?)

Let us know your thoughts on Facebook or in the comments below.

A Brilliant Tweet: Nancy Pelosi Blasts Bush for 4.4% Unemployment

Today, on Twitter, famous tweeter, @keder shared this tweet from @guypbenson:

Clicking the link in that tweet will take you all the way back to 2006 when Nancy Peolosi disparaged George W. Bush’s progress with unemployment.   The snapshot, while sad, is funny because Barack Obama would probably love to see unemployment at 4.4% under his watch (a sight that is sure to not happen).

I’d like to thank @keder and @guypbenson for bringing bringing our attention to today’s brilliant tweet.

What do you guys think?  Will Barack Obama see 4.4% unemployment?  Is this an example of what a partisan hack Pelosi is?  Or was this all Bush’s fault anyway?  (that’s what my current president keeps telling me)  Let us know in the comments below.  Or on Facebook.  Or if you’re really nice, I might give you the mayor of Oakland’s phone number, so you can share your comments with her.  “CDN Cares”

Feminine Rock Star Mocks Fox News [UPDATED… Fox Strikes Back]

You might remember our story about Adam (Fox News is an evil f**k*ng channel) Levine from the other day.  You know, the “rocker” that tweeted he doesn’t want Fox News to play his songs on their “evil channel” anymore.  Anyway, the fellas from Fox’s popular late night show, Red Eye, finally got around to responding to the rocker’s tweet, and they did it on air.  Enjoy.

So what do you think?  Were the Red Eye boys too hard on him?  Did they hit him just right?  Or should they have dropped the jackhammer on him?  Let us know on Facebook or in the comments below.  Or G+ or Twitter or Myspace.  I just write this stuff, I don’t really make or enforce the rules.

Attaaaackkkk Waatttcchhhh! Snitches Dig Ditches

Yesterday the Obama Twitter team proudly tweeted the creation of the pro-Obama defensive website, Attackwatch.com .

Immediately the Twittersphere exploded with the use of the hashtag #AttackWatch, but most likely not in the way the Obama team had hoped.  The poorly designed Attack Watch website bills itself as a site to counter “right wing” attacks on the President.  It encourages supporters to use the hashtag to report unfair attacks and stories and to request information to counter those attacks.  “Get the facts, fight the smears” is their motto.  The hashtag did indeed generate a huge influx of tweets, causing it to trend on Twitter in less than twelve hours.  However, the majority of responses were tweeted by conservatives and like-minded people and were heavy on snark, insults and sarcasm.  Tweeters accused Attack Watch of being a snitch site, a poor copy of Media Matters and reminiscent of the Gestapo.  Many began to use the hashtag to “report” their friends for anti-Obama tweeting and even their own children for subversive behavior.

What obviously seemed like a clever idea in the beginning for the Obama teamed has quickly evolved into an embarrassing joke.  Obama already has the undeniably bias support of the mainstream media, cable outlets (minus FOX), print media (that’s what we call the newspapers people used to read) and a plethora of Internet sites, including Huffington Post, Media Matters and others.  They leap to his defense on any mention of his weaknesses and even go so far as to publish out and out lies about entities like the tea party.  The fact that the Obama team felt it was necessary to create yet another “defensive” website speaks to the sheer desperation they must be feeling right now, and it shows.  Team Obama has not yet accepted the fact that the mere specter of the President opening his mouth to speak is not enough to distract an increasingly informed and engaged public from his horrifying failure of leadership.  And while it may sound alarmist, the idea of a “snitch” site in the first place says a lot about where in the political spectrum the President’s sensibilities lie.  It would be very disturbing were it not so completely, embarrassingly ridiculous.  Even the guys over at Misfit Politics got in on the action, creating this brilliant “ad” for Attack Watch, which has since gone viral.

The jury is still out, but it may be that Obama has finally jumped the shark with this one.  He is quickly becoming the laughing stock of his own carefully controlled production.  This idea was pitiful and very ill-timed, considering the onslaught of Obama scandals that have come to light in the last few weeks.  He deserves to be ridiculed.  In fact, ridicule is one of Alinsky’s rules for defeating political foes;  and one that Andrew Breitbart has taken for his own and encouraged others to do the same.  Let’s help expose the inanity of this latest rope-a-dope by our dear leader and continue to laugh hysterically with each other and AT the Obama team.  Share this hysterical video.  Visit Twitter and search the hashtag #AttackWatch for even more great laughs.  Let’s let the watchers who are watching us know that we are watching them watch, so watch out.

Crashing Obama’s Town Hall

How do you “crash” a town hall style meeting? You take a page from Obama’s playbook and do it on Twitter and have the questions “culled” out. Silly me, I was always under the impression that the town hall meeting is about everyone getting to voice their opinions and concerns.

Obama, being the socialist coward that he is, tried to pull off a “town hall meeting” on Twitter. Obama figured if he hid behind the teleprompters and monitors he wouldn’t be faced with or have to answer the hard questions. Enter the Republicans. It is reported that Republicans jumped at the chance and flooded the venue with those afore mentioned questions. There were many Republican members of congress that tried to get our questions answered but only one made it past the ones “culling” out questions.  The one question that made it to Obama was one from none other than House Speaker John Boehner.

John Boehner asked, “After embarking on a record spending binge that left us deeper in debt, where are the jobs?”

Obama replied with a chuckle and said Boehner’s question was “slightly skewed”.

SKEWED? How is that simple question skewed? A sitting president in what many see as the worst economic times since the Great Depression will not answer that simple question that is on many of American minds. The refusal to answer Boehner’s question proves once again that Obama and his administration are way out of touch with the American people.

While many Americans struggle to stay in their homes or to even keep food on the table to feed their families Obama and his family have been jet setting around the world apologizing and kissing the feet of people that would like to see this great nation fold. Obama never has shifted from campaign mode to business mode since winning the election. I will admit he can take a mound of manure and paint a pretty picture with it in his speeches, but now is not the time for speeches, it is time to fix our economy.

During Obamas run for president he used Facebook with great efficiency as a weapon against the Republican candidate. Social media was key in attaining the younger vote to win the election. We know his playbook, now we just have to be aware when he renames each play.

For Obama’s socialist agenda to succeed our economy must be weak enough that government can start taking over the private sector. He has already started the process with General Motors; we cannot afford to let them take over any more.

If taking back our country requires us to “crash” every event held for Obama then that is what we must do. WAKE UP AND STAND UP AMERICA! Now could be the last chance to save this great nation!

Gaffetastic Joe Biden Now On Twitter- Sort Of

Joe Biden official portrait crop.jpgIf you want to keep up with the latest goings on of the Vice President, you may now do that in 140 characters or less. Vice President Joe Biden has joined the virtual world of Twitter.

However, if you have hopes of catching Mr. Vice President in one of his infamous gaffes you will probably be disappointed. His new leap into the digital world will be taken by staff members. The information lists the account as the “Official OVP twitter account”.

Mr. Biden, who is well known for his foot-in-mouth comments, recently said:

“Look, John’s last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number-one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S, jobs.”

Maybe joining the twitter community will teach him how to count, since you are limited to 140 characters. Oh wait! It’s his staff that will be tweeting, not him personally! We will have to come up with another plan to help Mr. Biden learn how to count correctly!

It would be advisable- since it is the staff who will be tweeting from the official account- that Mr. Biden never be given the reigns of such advanced technology. He cannot seem to remember when televisions were invented, as we saw from this quote:

“When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened.”
Mr. Biden is not only clueless about the timing of television in society, but he also seems to be clueless of the fact that FDR was not president when the stock market crashed in 1929. One would think Mr. Biden would have learned by now to stick to his script and not go out on his own with ad-libs. What is that saying….? Oh yeah! “Some fools never learn!”
