The Magic of Jerusalem

solomons_temple

This ad promoting tourism in Jerusalem was banned from official release before it was ever released and is only available on Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon’s YouTube channel because it offends Palestinians.

Yes, the Word of God offends!

“…so that he [the antichrist] takes his seat in the Temple of God, displaying himself as being God”
2 Thessalonians 2:4

People may refuse to hear and believe the truth, but the fact still remains: God made a covenant with Abraham that Israel will forever belong to the Jews.  Throughout history, Jerusalem has indeed belonged to the Jewish people, and one day, the Third Temple will stand on the Temple Mount! Will the Dome of the Rock be destroyed, or will they stand side by side? Only God knows that answer definitively, as prophecy scholars differ in their interpretations of Scripture.

“Am I now your enemy, just because I told you the truth?”
Galatians 4:16

In Genesis 12:1-3, God promised the land of Israel to Abraham and his descendants. In Genesis 17:7-8 God confirms this covenant- “all the land of Canaan.” In Genesis 22:16-18 God promises Abraham the Land will belong to Israel despite opposition and threat. Genesis 26:3-5 is the confirmation of the covenant with Isaac. Genesis 28:13, 14 is the confirmation and extension of the promise to Jacob again. In Genesis 35:9-15, God appears  to Jacob again [see 35:1] at Bethel, and changes his name to Israel. He confirms the promise to him and his descendants. God’s promise to Abraham was that the land of Israel- all of the land of Canaan- belongs to the Jews “forever and ever” (Additional Scripture references and detailed history can be found here.)

YouTube Description:

Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon, displays in a new video the magic of Jerusalem as a city that combines diversity with harmony, modernity with history, and as a sacred city that for the first time in history, under Israeli sovereignty, Jews, Christians, Muslims, secular, religious, young and old are living side by side. In addition, the video shows the unbreakable bond between the Jewish people and Jerusalem.

I Know Who Said to Take Out God and Jerusalem from the DNC Platform

Ok. So I don’t exactly know, but I can offer an educated guess. Before we get into that, a little background is necessary.

Let’s go back to 2003. Back then, James Moore was starting his own little cottage industry on the back of Karl Rove. That “other-Moore” released a couple books, and one was made into a movie – “Bush’s Brain.” Of course, the whole marketing scheme was that George W. Bush couldn’t possibly be smart enough to do it all by himself. Rove was the puppet-master, and he was ruthless political operator manipulating the hapless Bush. Liberals ate this up with relish, and for at least a little while, they actually knew who Rove was (now, they apparently don’t, outside the Beltway at least.) Why was this idea so popular? Well, Bush did it to himself, in some ways. There just had to be someone very smart helping him along the way. How else could a former frat-boy make it to 1600, daddy being a previous resident notwithstanding?

Just a year later, Barack Obama comes on the national scene, at that year’s DNC convention. Of course this charismatic man was being groomed to run for the presidency. Everyone knew it, just as we can easily predict the rising stars in the GOP today. But how did Obama get there, and more importantly, how did he get into the White House? We all looked at Bush’s pedigree, and the left immediately leaped on any perceived deficiencies they could, leaving a huge market for Moore’s books on the topic. But, that was just a couple years into Bush’s first term. Only now are the Republicans starting to really delve into the past of the elusive Obama. Hopefully, it’s not “too little, too late.”

Instead of Moore, there’s Richard Miniter, and his book, Leading from Behind: The Reluctant President and the Advisors Who Decide for Him. I humbly suggest that it was no coincidence that the phrase “leading from behind” was used more than once on the floor of the RNC convention, by no less than Condi Rice, for one. This book suggests that there isn’t just one Rove in the background pulling strings in the current administration, but no less than three. That is, if you are only going to count the women.

In turns, Obama was (and still is) influenced highly by certain women in his life. That list includes Michelle Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, and Valerie Jarrett. While both Michelle and Pelosi obviously have some sway in Obama’s world all the time, admittedly Pelosi’s real time of influence was during the debates and passage of the Healthcare Reform Act. No one is likely to forget her infamous “we’ve got to pass it to know what’s in it” plea, and Miniter actually contends that we should be referring to that legislation as “Pelosi-Care,” not Obamacare, to give credit where it is actually due. As for the current debacle with the platform, it’s highly unlikely that either Michelle or Pelosi would have suggested such a thing as removing reference to God and Jerusalem.

So, that leaves Hillary Clinton and Valerie Jarrett to consider. Sure, it’s possible that both of these women had a hand in this, for different reasons. While all the Dems have been making hay about Bill Clinton’s speech at the convention, I’ve been quietly considering Romney’s response to it. It really wasn’t a very good speech for Obama. If nothing else, Bill Clinton is good at smiling while delivering an obscure insult. It could be argued that is precisely what that speech was. Does anyone really think that Bill forgot about Reagan’s inheritance from Carter, and what he did with it? If you do, you must be a Democrat. So yes, there is a strong argument for Hillary suggesting, or at least supporting, the removal of the reference to God and Jerusalem in the Democratic Platform. Or you could buy into Alan Dershowitz’s contention that it’s the result of “rogue elements”. Not very convincing, however, it is interesting to consider Dershowitz’s opinion on Hamas.

And that leaves Valerie Jarrett. She is arguably the one that conservatives should be calling “Obama’s Brain.” And just who is she, really? To hear it from the Obama’s, she’s a very old friend. Considering they met sometime in the 1990’s, it does make one wonder what it takes to become an “old friend.” Otherwise, Jarrett resides in Rove’s old office, and some might even say that she has greater access to and influence on Obama than Rove ever did with Bush. And, by all accounts, Jarrett is a radical left-wing political player, and probably the biggest proponent of secularism in the current administration. Miniter’s book does cover the history of Jarrett and the Obama’s such as can be gleaned from the few that are willing to talk about her. Of course, it’s not likely anyone will get many statements on her going forward, and certainly not from anyone like Robert Gibbs, who she probably caused to end up outside the White House.

So, my bet is on Valerie Jarrett being the culprit, and there is no way it was a typo. And, like many other mistakes in this administration, there never was any intention for there to be a real vote on the issue on the floor of the convention. The fact that the delegates actually spoke their minds had to be highly annoying to Obama. After all, the only deity he wants to see people worshiping is him, right?

2012 DNC Platform and Israel

From Daniel Harper at The Weekly Standard:

An Obama campaign official confirmed to THE WEEKLY STANDARD that President Obama “personally” intervened to alter the Democratic platform to include a reference to Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The new platform, adopted this evening at the Democratic convention in Charlotte, now includes pro-Israel language that the previous document did not.

The president did want to make clear what his personal beliefs were because they were not in the original platform,” the campaign official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

The new language reads, “Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel. The parties have agreed that Jerusalem is a matter for final status negotiations. It should remain an undivided city accessible to people of all faiths.”

However, while the new Democratic platform apparently now reflects the “personal beliefs” of President Obama, it is now at odds with Obama administration policy.

In July, when White House spokesman Jay Carney was asked to name the capital of Israel, he refused to do so. Acknowledging that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, the Obama administration insists, would pre-judge one of the “final status issues” in the peace process.

The campaign official acknowledged this discrepancy. “The president has a personal view, but the president and the administration’s view as a matter of policy is ultimately that Jerusalem is a final status issue,” said the official.

She elaborated, “It doesn’t make sense for a U.S. a president impose his personal beliefs in a policy context. … But it’s important for him to make clear where he stands on these issues.”

So while Obama personally believes Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, his administration will not say so.

The official insisted, however, that it is commonplace for presidents to hold conflicting personal and policy views on the Israeli-Palestinian dispute, citing Presidents George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan as examples.

But let us not forget what President Obama said last year concerning the borders of Israel.

From the National Journal:

“The borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps, so that secure and recognized borders are established for both states,” Obama said. “The Palestinian people must have the right to govern themselves, and reach their potential, in a sovereign and contiguous state.”

DNC Benediction Has No Mention of Israel

Last night, amid the controversy over the official DNC platform, Rabbi David Wolpe offered the closing benediction, but excluded Jerusalem and all of Israel itself.

Here is Wolpe’s prayer:

Dear God, we are grateful that our nation is founded on the highest principles of freedom and resourcefulness and creativity and ever-renewed strength. And we understand that those worthy ideals stand alongside the commitment to compassion, to goodness, our sacred covenant to care for those who are bereaved and bereft, who are frightened, who are hungry, who are bewildered and lost, who seek shelter from the cold.

As your prophet taught us: “shiftu yatom, rivu almanah.” Defend the orphan and fight on behalf of the widow. We know that our lamp is lifted not only to illuminate our way but to serve as a beacon to others that here, this land, is a place where the dreams of a weary world flourish and endure.

Ours is a holy charge. A single moment, a touch, a glance, a word, can change a life. Our children look to us with aspirational eyes, with the hope that their world will be kinder, sweeter, smarter, than the one we have known.

Each of these changes touches us all, for you have taught us that we must count on each other, that our country is strong through community and that the children of Israel, on the way to that sanctified and cherished land, did not walk through the wilderness alone.

‘Rachmana,’ merciful God. May we be guided by your wisdom, and so become more understanding of the convictions of others. May our souls be enlarged by empathy and uplifted by leaders and thinkers and teachers who believe in strength of soul and wild, wonderful visions. So together, with right and left worshiping the same God, our nation – this strong, blessed nation, filled with spirit and called to noble cause – will become more passionate, more purposeful, more burnished and bright through the warmth of your embrace and the extraordinary power, dear God, of your love. Amen.

As mentioned, any reference at all to the State of Israel or Jerusalem is missing. There really wasn’t even a reference to Jews, except for a tiny reference to the “children of Israel”, which Wolpe used as a metaphor.

Is this any real surprise though? Considering that the original 2012 DNC platform didn’t mention anything about the state of Israel or about where the actual capital was, our embassy is still in Tel-aviv, and Jay Carney dances around questions about Israel, I am not surprised at all. This is just the continuation of Obama and his administrations war on Israel.

2012 Democratic Platform on Jerusalem, Israel

The 2008 Democratic Party Platform said this about Jerusalem, Israel:

Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel. The parties have agreed that Jerusalem is a matter for final status negotiations. It should remain an undivided city accessible to people of all faiths.

However, the 2012 Democratic Party Platform has said nothing about Jerusalem, Israel, and the language about Israel is different:

President Obama and the Democratic Party maintain an unshakable commitment to Israel’s security. A strong and secure Israel is vital to the United States not simply because we share strategic interests, but also because we share common values. For this reason, despite budgetary constraints, the President has worked with Congress to increase security assistance to Israel every single year since taking office, providing nearly $10 billion in the past three years. The administration has also worked to ensure Israel’s qualitative military edge in the region. And we have deepened defense cooperation – including funding the Iron Dome system – to help Israel address its most pressing threats, including the growing danger posed by rockets and missiles emanating from the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Syria, and Iran. The President’s consistent support for Israel’s right to defend itself and his steadfast opposition to any attempt to delegitimize Israel on the world stage are further evidence of our enduring commitment to Israel’s security.

It is precisely because of this commitment that President Obama and the Democratic Party seek peace between Israelis and Palestinians. A just and lasting Israeli-Palestinian accord, producing two states for two peoples, would contribute to regional stability and help sustain Israel’s identity as a Jewish and democratic state. At the same time, the President has made clear that there will be no lasting peace unless Israel’s security concerns are met. President Obama will continue to press Arab states to reach out to Israel. We will continue to support Israel’s peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan, which have been pillars of peace and stability in the region for many years. And even as the President and the Democratic Party continue to encourage all parties to be resolute in the pursuit of peace, we will insist that any Palestinian partner must recognize Israel’s right to exist, reject violence, and adhere to existing agreements.

But as this website notes, the language in the 2012 platform is much different and weaker than that of the 2008 platform.

The United States and its Quartet partners should continue to isolate Hamas until it renounces terrorism, recognizes Israel’s right to exist, and abides by past agreements. Sustained American leadership for peace and security will require patient efforts and the personal commitment of the President of the United States. The creation of a Palestinian state through final status negotiations, together with an international compensation mechanism, should resolve the issue of Palestinian refugees by allowing them to settle there, rather than in Israel. All understand that it is unrealistic to expect the outcome of final status negotiations to be a full and complete return to the armistice lines of 1949. Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel. The parties have agreed that Jerusalem is a matter for final status negotiations. It should remain an undivided city accessible to people of all faiths.

The Capital of Israel Is…

IsraelMap

I’ll take Capitals for $500, Alex.

The capitol of France: Paris. The capital of Russia: Moscow. Of Belarus… oh, that’s a tougher one. But it’s Minsk. Everyone knows and everyone agrees. The country gets to pick its capital.

I can’t choose another city to be the capital of Germany, even though they were a divided country for years. It is still the decision of the citizens of the country.

But what about Israel? The Jewish people have chosen Jerusalem as their capital. But the Palestinians (a terrorist group without a state) argue that Jerusalem is theirs. The United Nations, in its naive desire for smooth sailing, would like to see Jerusalem become an international city. But in 2008 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that “Jerusalem belongs to the Jewish people and will remain under Israeli sovereignty for eternity.”

Candidate Obama, in 2008, seemed to be in agreement with Netanyahu:

But President Obama, wanting to be friends with all, choose to sit on the sidelines. In 2011, the administration was caught scrubbing all references of Jerusalem being part of Israel from its website.

It’s now 2012 and again Candidate Obama might have to answer this question. As he ponders it he should probably talk to Press Secretary Jay Carney, who did not appear comfortable being put on the spot. White House spokesman Jay Carney refused to directly say which city is the capital of Israel during a press briefing Thursday, saying only “our position has not changed.”

The election is just 100 days away. People who believe in the right of Israel to have and keep their capital should remember that this administration is not necessarily on their side. This election will be important for the USA but also for the country of the only democratic ally in the Mid East, Israel.

Egypt Pres-Elect Morsi’s Cleric: Jerusalem Shall Be Our Capital.

Muslim-Brotherhood.jpg

As Egyptian elections are certified and Muslim Brotherhood candidate Mohammed Morsi declared winner one wonders what this means to the region. Last month Muslim Cleric Safwat Higazi spoke to a crowd sharing the dreams and goals of the this group. They will not be satisfied to rule in Egypt, instead they want to take over the entire Arab world and their capital will be Jerusalem.

Is this the Arab Spring that the US government supported? Watch the video (English translation).

Muslim Brotherhood Takes Egypt; Targets Israel

Egyptian President calls for takeover of Jerusalem

It was announced Sunday that Muslim Brotherhood candidate Mohammed Morsi has won the Egyptian Presidential election with 51.73% of the vote.

The Muslim Brotherhood‘s own stated end goal is to create an Islamic Calaphaete or empire  using democratic processes in Middle-Easter and European nations. While many discount the self-announced goal as fear-mongering, the words of Egypt’s new president cannot be so easily dismissed.

At a rally for the President-elect, the cleric chosen to introduce Morsi’s cleric sang to the crowd as “lovers of Martyrdom” and that they must “banish the sleep from the eyes of all Jews”. He continued saying that all Egyptians “are Hamas and that they should “brandish their arms” and march on Jeruselam.

Are Egyptians the same Hamas that has fired 150 rockets into Israel over the past week?

Obama’s Arab Spring could end up being an Israeli and European nightmare.

US Textbooks: Muslims Discovered America

“History from an Islamo-centric perspective” .. even that’s sugar coating it.

“..did you know that Muslims discovered America? Or that Jerusalem is an Arab city? That’s just some of the “history” that students in America’s K-12 classrooms have been taught in recent years–with the help of taxpayer money.”

“They [Israelis] know for certain that our [Palestinian] roots are deeper than their false history. We, from the balcony of our home, look out over [Islamic] holiness and on sin and filth (Jews’ praying at Western Wall) in an area that used to have [Arab] people and homes. We are drawing our new maps. When they [Israelis] disappear from the picture, like a forgotten chapter in the pages of our city’s history, we will build it anew (residential area). Taking A Stand May Mean You Lose Friends

I was put in the position just a couple of nights ago where I had to take a stand. You know the saying, “If you don’t stand for something you’ll fall for anything.”

As a very solid supporter of Israel I write articles, tweets, and speak out very boldly of my support for Israel. I had a friend who is a liberal, who as it turns out is atheist, but her parents are Muslim. Obviously we are as different from each other as night and day in our beliefs.

However, we had found a way to remain friends without letting our difference cause issues. I had to draw the line with her a couple of times and tell her certain things were not up for discussion. I was never disillusioned enough to believe I could change her mind or beliefs and I know for certain she was not going to change mine.

That all changed night before last when I posted the link to my article “Come Hell Or High Water I Will Stand With Israel“.

I doubt very seriously she even took the time to read the article. Instead, she started ranting that while she could sympathize with Israel it was not right that they go “bulldozing down homes.” This was just the beginning of the rant.

Israel is one of the topics that was off-limits for us. I warned her, as nicely as I possibly could, that I would not discuss this issue with her as I refused to do in the past. She persisted. I told her I was giving her one last warning. I drew my line in the sand. The topic of Israel just was not up for discussion with her. Still she persisted. So I blocked her from my twitter account.

That was the last thing I wanted to do. However, she did not respect me and my stand. She refused to let it go. She continued to bait me. I stood strong. A friendship was ended.

It is sometimes tough to take a stand. These days, it is often very difficult to take a stand, most especially if it involves supporting Israel. However, if you don’t stand for something, you WILLfall for anything! Not I, says the Lady Warrior who knows the Blessings of Freedom! I will fight forever- until my dying breath, if that is what it takes! To paraphrase my favorite movie, “Braveheart“, they may take my life, but they will NEVER take my freedom!

America, we must be prepared. I strongly believe that the actions of President Obama today will bring down the wrath of God Almighty on this nation. He has turned his back on Israel. He spat in the face of God’s chosen  people. God will not take this lightly!

I stand united with you, Oh Israel! Lift up your eyes unto the heavens. Yes, as Glenn Beck just said, I do most certainly believe the very gates of hell have just opened up against you! But I also believe just as Glenn Beck just stated that the very gates of heaven are standing wide open for you! YOU, OH ISRAEL, are the apple of Sovereign God’s eye! Do not despair! He is with you always. My heart and prayers will continue to be with you, Israel! May God bless you and keep you always!

“That” Day Has Come- Israel IS The Burdensome Stone

“And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people. All who burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”
Zechariah 12:3

It does not surprise me that the world has come against Israel. Prophecy foretold of this thousands of years ago.

What does surprise me is how people who call themselves Christians are now among the ever-growing group who stands against the nation of Israel and her people.

I just read a headline that broke my heart. It shouldn’t surprise me, but I must admit it does.

The headline reads, “United Methodist Board Features Anti-Israel Message in Newsletter”.

The United Methodist Church’s official website states:

“As United Methodists, we have an obligation to bear a faithful Christian witness to Jesus Christ, the living reality at the center of the Church’s life and witness. To fulfill this obligation, we reflect critically on our biblical and theological inheritance, striving to express faithfully the witness we make in our own time.”

If you read the various links on the website regarding The United Methodist faith and beliefs they speak strongly of taking a stand and being active in society, their response to God’s love and grace, a mission to make disciples, and other areas that seem to take a definite stand for doing what is right according to God’s Word.

If this Statement of Faith is held true by the religious organization of The United Methodist Church, they would come out strongly against this  “advocacy wing” of the organization and denounce every ounce of this newsletter!

To quote Abraham Lincoln,

“I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live by the light that I have. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.”

Members of The United Methodist Church, you must ask yourself where you stand.  Do you support Israel? If you do, you must seriously question being a part of anything or anyone who stands on the wrong side of God! As the clichés go, “You are known by the company you keep.” There’s also the applicable quote, “Birds of a feather flock together.” I could spend a lot of time and space quoting common sayings that have relevance to this, but I believe you get the idea.

Our faith in Christ comes not from a specific religion, church building or leader. The ONLY Leader we must glean our Truth from is the One who IS The Way, The TRUTH and The Life- Jesus Christ.  (John 14:6) If you disagree with The United Methodist Church “advocacy group” you MUST go to the top on this issue! The time for sitting silently by has long since passed. This is the reason we have the leadership we have today and the social issues we do today. The Church- The Body of Christ- became complacent. I speak for ALL religions that call themselves “Christian” in that statement. I cannot point fingers at anyone else without having 4 fingers pointing back at myself. We must stand strong, proud and resolved on this issue. Israel and her people- the Jews- are God’s chosen people. Genesis 12:3 makes it very clear where we must stand in regards to Israel-

“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

If you support the division of Jerusalem- the land of Israel- you are essentially supporting the division of the homeland of Messiah.  Yeshua- or Jesus as we know Him- was born into this earthly world in Israel.Oh yes, there are those who contest this fact, but they are wrong, plain and simple. The Bible- God’s Holy Word- the ONLY resolute written Truth in existence- clearly documents the genealogy of this man Yeshua (Jesus).

If you are a Christian then your standard of belief should come only from The Holy Word of God Almighty. Either you believe that The Bible is complete Truth or you don’t.

Matthew 2: 2 says specifically that He was born, “King of the Jews”.  If you stand against Israel, you stand against  Yeshua- Jesus- The Christ- The Messiah.

If you stand with Israel, you stand with Yeshua- Jesus- The Christ- The Messiah.

When it comes down to the end, we are each, personally accountable before the throne of God Almighty. The Methodist Church cannot and will not speak for you. The Baptist Church cannot and will not speak for you. The Catholic Church cannot and will not speak for you. The Pentecostal Church cannot and will not speak for you. The choice is yours and yours alone. YOU will be PERSONALLY held accountable for where YOU stand!

We have come to the point in history that prophecy speaks of. Jerusalem has indeed become a burdensome stone for all the world. The time for playing church has come and gone. The time for choosing the label of “Christian” for your religious preference is over. The time has come to make some hard choices. You are not going to be alone, but there are far more people who stand against Israel than with her. Even those who call themselves her allies are coming together against her. Yes, you will be mocked for taking a stand for her. Your life may even be in danger at some point in time, but there is eternal life after this temporal life. The choice is now yours.

Choose you this day whom you will serve.

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:15). As for me and my house, we will Stand With Israel- NOW AND FOREVER!
