Knucklehead Of The Week, Christmas Edition: Lori Lightfoot On Santa’s Dunce List

Knucklehead of the week? On Christmas morning? Yes, and yes. When knuckleheadedness takes a holiday in this country, so will we. But until then, we will persist regardless of the calendar. This week’s winner seems to have been begging for this award since she came into office, yet Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot was always outdone by another knucklehead: but not this week. Mayor Lightfoot wasn’t satisfied with one instance of ridiculousness this week, oh no, she had to have two. And if we did a little more research, there are probably even more examples we could find.

 

Winner: Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot shows her idiocy… not once, but twice.

On Monday, Chicago’s cartoon-like mayor Lori Lightfoot pleaded for help from the Federal Government to help stem the tsunami of violence sweeping over her city, stating, “We cannot continue to endure the level of violence that we are now experiencing.” Fair enough, mayor. There’s nothing wrong with raising your hand and asking for help, particularly when people are being murdered in your city at an unprecedented rate. What we have issue with isn’t that you asked for help, it’s that you needed to ask for help in the first place, and it’s the kind of help for which you’re asking.

Mayor Lightfoot was one of those mayor’s pushing the insanity of ‘defund the police,’ and she was, in fact, successful in so doing. Over $80 million was removed from her city’s police budget and reallocated for other priorities. Additionally, Lightfoot rarely misses a chance to criticize her own police department, to the point where after one cop was murdered and another hospitalized last summer, police literally turned their backs on her in unison as she made a hospital visit.

Combine these factors with other soft-on-crime approaches to law enforcement, and the City of Chicago is now the deadliest city in the nation. If Lightfoot wants to reduce the “level of violence” in Chicago, she should start by re-funding her own police department, embracing their service and reaching out to its leadership, and reinstituting the rule of law. Instead, Lightfoot puts her hand out and asks the feds for help. And what type of help did she ask for? Lightfoot wants Attorney General Merrick Garland to order the ATF to help her crack down on guns.

The guns aren’t the problem, Mayor Lightfoot. The people shooting the guns are the problem. The disregard for the rule of law by you and your administration is the problem You are the problem.

But Lightfoot’s week of knuckleheadedness wasn’t done. In an apparent effort to cram in as much stupidity before the end of the year, Lightfoot announced a vaccine passport directive on Tuesday, and by doing so exposed the utter mindlessness behind this mindset.

The announcement reads, “Beginning Jan. 3, you must show proof you are fully vax’d to enter bars, restaurants, fitness centers, and entertainment/recreational venues where food/drink are served.” Then, Lightfoot clarified, “If you’re going into that coffee shop to pick-up and go, you don’t need to show proof. But if you’re gonna linger, you’re gonna eat that muffin, you’re gonna sit down with your laptop, you gotta show proof of vaccination.”

As we’ve been observing for months now, COVID is unquestionably the most intelligent virus to ever exist. We know that it will avoid infecting people who are protesting for social justice but will be unyielding to those attending a right-wing protest. We know that it can increase its criticalness when it hits a red state like Florida, but then it moderates when it hits a blue state like New York. And now we know that COVID will hold back on its infectiousness for the soy boy who goes to Starbucks for a grande, bone dry, five-shot ristretto, so long as he doesn’t hang around for too long.

On the other hand, maybe none of this COVID hysteria makes any sense. And maybe anyone who defunds the police is enabling violence in her city. And maybe… just maybe… Lori Lightfoot is a knucklehead.

 

Honorable Mention #1: AOC strikes again, this time claiming she represents more people than Joe Manchin.

The incomparable Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) made the claim on MSNBC on Sunday while protesting Sen. Joe Manchin’s (D-WV) rejection of President Biden’s Build Back Better boondoggle when she stated, “I represent more, or just as many or more people than Joe Manchin does. Perhaps more.” Perhaps more? Is this math problem too difficult for you to figure out, Alexandria? Were you absent the day that they taught arithmetic in grammar school? Because madame, West Virginia has approximately two-and-a-half times the number of voters in your district.

What’s more absurd about AOC’s comment is its premise: Manchin killed BBB and that’s not fair because West Virginia has a small population. AOC ignores the fact, or perhaps is too stupid to recognize, that there are small states that have Democratic senators as well. Rhode Island, for instance, has two Democratic senators, but has almost a million folks fewer than West Virginia’s population. And of course, we have Delaware, home of our esteemed Commander-in-Chief which also has two Democrats in the Senate and even less inhabitants than Rhode Island. AOC has turned “talking out of your ass” into an art form.

 

Honorable Mention #2: Baylor Professor Dr. Hotez says ‘anti-science aggression’ is a 

leading killer of young folks.

On Tuesday, a professor of ‘tropical medicine’ at Baylor College of Medicine named Dr. Peter Hotez claimed on CNN, “Anti-science aggression is now probably one of the leading killers of young adults in the United States.” The professor refused to elaborate on the assertion and didn’t explain how such aggression can translate into violence, therefore we can only assume the “science” he’s standing up for relates to COVID. We can be certain that Hotez wasn’t objecting to the assault on science regarding climate alarmism, gender absolutes, or when life begins. That type of anti-science activism is just fine, but you had better not question clowns like Dr. Anthony Fauci.

It’s curious that Dr. Hotez holds this opinion while simultaneously teaching ‘tropical medicine.’ By chance, Dr. Hotez, does tropical medication include cannabis? And if so, have you been smoking some of that tropical medicine? Large quantities of it, perhaps?
