Made in China? Put it Down
China may be the most powerful country on Earth. They may not have the most advanced and trained military, but they have found another way to control the world. They have tapped into the greed and craving for cheap products that people around the globe have developed. With nearly 20% of the world’s population, China became a magnet for producing goods for major corporations worldwide looking for cheap labor and materials. To save a buck, the world sold out to communist China.
Like the terrorist tribes of the Middle East, the Chinese government is a patient group led by a singular ideologue. The leaders of China have been oppressing their country for decades. They did this to maintain complete power over every facet of their lives. From birth to death, the lives of the people of China are choreographed by the government.
Human rights violations are critical to the Chinese, from forced abortions to concentration work camps for religious followers not approved by the government. China has no human rights, which again draws comparisons to their equals in the desert countries. The Chinese government has one purpose, and that is world domination. Their people are not individuals but just components in their master plan.
China has been building a dominant military for decades. They are the region’s bully, and they flex their muscles by intimidating India, Taiwan, and anybody they perceive as a threat to their quest for the top. The world should not ignore the atrocities they inflict on their own, but they are. Not only do we ignore the origin of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the genocide of the Uyghurs, the one-child rule enforced with forced abortions, but we reward the Chinese by convening the Winter Olympics in Beijing. We are complicit with China in our actions and inactions.
Though we have lost over 900,000 to the COVID Pandemic imported from China, we turned to them for vaccines and test kits. We have surrendered much of our pharmaceutical industry to China, including nearly 100% of our antibiotics. Our auto industry has been crippled because of a shortage of essential chips only produced in China. This is evidence of the danger of selling our souls to China to save a buck.
Some of the reasons China is so attractive to the US manufacturers are lower taxes, lower labor costs, no union threat, cheap energy, and good logistics for moving products. Trump lowered the tax rate on corporations and created incentives for building and hiring American, but Biden reversed these initiatives on day 1 with the stroke of a pen. His and Hunter’s ties to China may have contributed to that pen stroke.
The one thing that will make American companies rethink their ties to China is American spending habits. If corporations do not concern themselves with the Chinese treatment of its people, Americans can be concerned. If American companies would rather keep their profits in China and hire Chinese rather than American workers, Americans need to open their eyes.
One ironic thing is the companies that initiated boycotts on Georgia and forced the move of the Major League Baseball All-Star Game out of Atlanta in 2021 are sponsoring the Olympics in Beirut. These companies are offended by laws to strengthen election security but have no problem with the torturing and killing of Uyghurs. They have no problem with the Chinese government forcing abortions on pregnant women to control the population. They are okay with the Chinese government’s total censorship of all Olympic athletes These companies have selective morals and conscience.
Americans are spenders and buyers, but we need to be more educated consumers. We need to identify where items we purchase are made and look for options made in the USA. We need to read the fine print, turn that package over, and look for the country of origin. We can do one thing to end our reliance on Chinese-made products: pick it up, see Made in China, then put it down.
