We Were Warned, Now What?
Yuri Bezmenov along with many others warned us about the direction our country was going. Mr. Bezmenov was a former KGB informant and defector who fled to the west. He tried to explain and warn us, in an interview in 1984, about the truth behind ideological subversion along with when it began in the United States. In his video Bezmenov said demoralization started in America 25 years prior to the video airing, around 1949. Bezmenov’s discussion on the “Stages of Communist Takeover” can be seen here.
The four stages of Ideological Subversion are:
- Demoralization
- Destabilization
- Crisis
- Normalization
Stage 1:
It takes from fifteen to twenty years to demoralize a nation. Why that many years? Because this is the minimum number of years which requires to educate one generation of students in the country of your enemy exposed to the ideology of the enemy. In other words, Marxist-Leninism ideology is being pumped into the soft heads of at least three generations of American students without being challenged or counter-balanced by the basic values of Americanism, American patriotism. – Yuri Bezmenov
Bezmenov said Demoralization started around 25 years prior to his interview. Around that time the Frankfurt School of social theory began in the West. Some of the main proponents of the school included Antonio Gramsci, Herbert Marcuse, Erich Fromm, Theodor Adorno, and Max Horkheimer, all of which were exiles to the West when Hitler came into power and all were supporters of Karl Marx. These men became writers, professors at Ivy League Universities, intelligence analysts for what is now the CIA. Here is a well-detailed timeline of The Frankfurt School . These are the perfect jobs for a Marxist to begin indoctrinating youth into the beliefs of communism.
The subversion was hard to see at first so it went unnoticed but can be easily traced to the thought processes of the children from the 1950s. These ideals were implemented: 1. The creation of racism offenses. 2. Continual change to create confusion. 3. The teaching of sex and homosexuality to children. 4. The undermining of schools’ and teachers’ authority. 5. Huge immigration to destroy identity. 6. The promotion of excess drinking. 7. Emptying of Churches. 8. An unreliable legal system with bias against victims of crime. 9. Dependency on the state or state benefits. 10. Control of media. 11. Encouraging the breakdown of the family.
An entire generation was indoctrinated with these core principals who become the ‘flower children’ of the ’60s. They grew up into adults who hated everything about American religion, tradition, and capitalism. They took power in the ’70s and ’80s. Simply put during this stage the subversion focuses on destroying the moral fabric of a nation through control of the media and academia. It began specifically in the United States by destroying Christianity and its influence in society, along with all the other fabrics associated with morals and values already listed above: numbers 1 – 11.
Joseph McCarthy was born on November 14, 1908, near Appleton, Wisconsin. In 1946 he was elected to the U.S. Senate, and in 1950 he publicly charged that 205 communists had infiltrated the U.S. State Department. Reelected in 1952, he became chair of the Senate’s subcommittee on investigations, and for the next two years, he investigated various government departments and questioned innumerable witnesses, resulting in what would be known as the Red Scare.
C.S. Lewis also tried to warn us about the dangers and infiltration of communism in the Abolition of Man and his 1945 masterpiece, That Hideous Strength. In spite of the warnings we received, we blew them off as conspiracy theories or just blatantly ignored them, and so the subversion continued unchallenged.
Yuri Bezmenov explained that demoralization is important because it robs the targeted population of its ability to process valid information. Even when demoralization targets are “showered with authentic proof” of contrary positions, they simply “refuse to believe it.” He continued,
The result? The result you can see. Most of the people who graduated in the sixties, dropouts or half-baked intellectuals are now occupying the positions of power in the government, civil service, business, mass media, educational system. You are stuck with them. You cannot get rid of them. They are contaminated. They are programmed to think and react to certain stimuli in a certain pattern.
You cannot change their mind even if you expose them to authentic information. Even if you prove that white is white and black is black. You cannot change the basic perception and illogical behavior. In other words, these people, the process of demoralization is complete and irreversible. To rid society of these people you need another twenty or fifteen years to educate a new generation of patriotically-minded and common sense people who would be acting in favor and in the interests of United States society.
– Yuri Bezmenov
Demoralization is obvious today in young people who have had faith in their country destroyed by the media and education. The 1619 project is a good example of the propaganda being instill in education today. They have rewritten history and argue that American History actually began with the arrival of black slaves. They say the Revolutionary War was fought by the colonists to preserve slavery and so on. Even though the 1619 Project has been discredited by historians, and the original author admitted what she wrote wasn’t true, the 1619 Project is still implemented in many schools across the nation.
Guilt is another word used to summarize demoralization. In America, we are always urged to feel guilty about our history or our society. Left-wing politicians and academia both find guilt as the most powerful weapon in their arsenal. They have to make people feel guilty and deserving of punishment in order to expand their punitive government power. According to Mr. Bezmonov demoralization occurred before 1985.
Stage 2: Destabilization
Stage 2 is much faster and only requires two to five years or less in this case according to the KGB doctrine. This is the stage where the economy, foreign relations, and defense are all attacked. Since the population is already demoralized nothing they would say or do would amount to much of a defense. The purpose of destabilization is to change the existing state of the country. The government uses a variety of components to expand into a huge bureaucracy that infringes on the civil liberties of the people. The government may offer entitlements in an effort to get the people to go along with these “changes.”
The economy in the United States has steadily weakened for more than 30 years due to corruption combined with the merging of government and Wall Street. The American middle class is basically on the verge of extinction. This step is necessary for Marxists to gain power in politics. The idea is to make men reliant on government and angry, at the same time remove their means to provide food and shelter. That is Marxism 101 at its finest. It is no coincidence that two candidates for president in 2016 were a populist and a communist. Lucky for us the populist won.
The destabilizing of foreign policy has chiefly been accomplished through the neo-con policy of intervention. As a result of the world in a constant state of war, refugees will seek shelter in rich Western countries which is part of the one-world plan by Cultural Marxists. Countries that experience mass immigration become prime for communist assimilation. You will now when a country is demoralized and destabilized because the people or culture no longer have anything or very little in common; that’s what happened with the Roman Empire.
Bezmenov in 1984 found it “absolutely fantastic” how much Marxist -Leninist influence had developed in the American military and economy. The population of a demoralized country are willing to believe the worst criticism of its own society. They see defenders of that same society as their enemies and their enemies become their allies. Those that defend are held to unprecedented standards while anything goes for the critics. Hypocrisy is the obsession of the destabilized population. They view everything as being presented by ominous powers that want to exploit them. Goodwill tends to dissipate from society as hate grows and trust disappears. People who are demoralized lose faith in their nation, history, ideals, and each other.
Stage 3: Crisis
The next stage is crisis. It may take only six weeks to bring a country to the verge of crisis. You see it in Central America now. And after crisis, with a violent change in power, structure, and economy, you have the period of so-called normalization will last indefinitely. Normalization is a cynical expression borrowed from Soviet propaganda. When the Soviet tanks moved into Czechoslovakia in ’68, Brezhnev said, ‘now brother Czechoslovakia is normalized.’ This is what will happen in the United States if you allow all these schmucks to promise all the goodies and paradise on earth to destabilize your economy, to eliminate the principle of free market competition, and to put a big brother government in Washington, D.C. with benevolent dictators – Yuri Bezmenov
Yuri Bezmenov, if he were alive today, would be shocked how fast Crisis-Normalization Cycle was implemented. Every new crisis invented by the Marxist Deep State is designed to strip freedoms away from a distracted, ignorant, and frightened citizens.
The fake news constantly says, “something must be done” to stop crime, inequality, terrorism or any other invented story to make American’s react. With each piece of legislation devised under the guise of keeping us safe from the devil himself, some aspect of the Constitution is shredded.
A cataclysmic event creates fear and division in the nation. Through this crisis comes a revolutionary change in power that can come swiftly. Once a society has been destabilized, Bezmenov said the time would be ripe to create a Crisis, which he estimated would take six to eight weeks.
A crisis has the obvious benefit of panicking demoralized, destabilized people into abandoning their legal protections and constitutional ideals. When the China virus hit, anyone who protested against the lockdowns and brought up those ideals were treated like they were maniacal. They were even attacked by other Americans who didn’t realize they were trying to protect the rights of all Americans. Then riots hit and everything went the opposite way. These people were treated like modern-day gods out to clear the world of all its sick manifestations. They were suddenly cured of the virus or they made any repercussions from it irrelevant. If you wanted to open your store, go to church, take the kids to a playground you told you were selfish and trying to kill the elderly. When you burned down stores, looted, injured or murdered people no one even mentioned the endangered elderly or cared. The lockdowns and the riots continue and so does the hypocrisy with American’s attacking, shaming, and spying on other American’s.
A crisis can de-legitimize certain aspects of an existing system that have already suffered the consequences of demoralization and destabilization. Anyone who controls communication also controls how or what parts of the system will be affected by the crisis.
An example of the controlled media is the way they avoid any talk about all the riots, destruction, violent crime and the failures of left-wing mayors and governors across the country. They are completely disinterested in even mentioning the incompetence of left-wing Democrat officials while at the same time attacking Republican governors who got everything right from the beginning or are not part of the lockdowns and so on.
Ultimately all the violence we are witnessing, along with the Marxists who destroyed people’s livelihoods, combined with all the people who were injured or murdered, all that, has somehow turned into, “lets remove, defund, eliminate the police and all law enforcement altogether,” along with other nonsense.
Former Obama advisor Rahm Emmanuel said, “never let a crisis go to waste.”
Some crazy gunman shoots randomly: work little by little at the Second Amendment so the Marxists can disarm the citizens and make them defenseless against the power of armed government
An individual who is gay is murdered: Rather than prosecuting the offender for murder, make it a “hate crime” instead to make a favored class of the Marxist scheme more equal under the law than another.
The Patriot Act was passed so the CIA can spy on people through computers and other electronic devices.
4. Normalization
Crisis is essential in an effort to get the middle class to accept a political agenda that would typically be against its interests, which then leads to the fourth stage of subversion: the offer to make the pain and fear go away by accepting political domination, normalization.
Normalization: A “new normal” is established, the population submits to it, and communism begins to take root in real and lasting ways.
Every time something happens they will tell you not to worry, go about your normal routine. They won’t mention you being normalized to accept the way they are taking away your way of life and your freedom. The worst part of it all is the fact that you don’t’ even notice.
C.S. Lewis said, “the safest road to hell is the gradual one – the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts.”
It is obligatory that you recognize this Crisis-Normalization that Yuri Bezmenov alludes to. You only learn the truth by opening your mind, seeing the facts before you, and then, and only then, will you see that America has become normalized.
The United States today cannot be recognized from 1949 when Yuri Bezmenov told us all that was the beginning of the ideological subversion. Life now is worse in almost every facet.
- Culture and art are fully degenerate and ugly, yet we still pay to see them.
- Standards of living are low, no job security, no pension plans, crapy health care plans, housing costs soar.
- Destruction of the nuclear family.
- Constitution being dismantled.
- Fear of saying anything; you could lose your job.
- Intrusion into your personal privacy. There are social engineers inventing things like this.
- Ubiquity of technology and Orwellian “social” media, isolating people, creating envy and unhappiness.
The only good news is that Bezmenov said it takes 15-20 years to turn a generation back to patriotism. So it can be done.
In 2015 with the rise of nationalism to counter political correctness. 2016 with the election of Donald Trump and Brexit: is the withdrawal of the United Kingdom (UK) from the European Union (EU). Reports show Generation Z is the most politically conservative ever.
Let’s be clear. We could still fail and fall flat to everything Yuri Bezmenov said. The strategic violence unfolding before our vary eyes is not part of any social justice and without extreme vigilance, we could still sink. While we sat back and did nothing in the second half the 2oth century the indoctrination moved forward exponentially. It is going to take time to undo this but as a country united we could succeed. No one knows how long it will take to remove the Frankfurt School, Communist ideological subversion from the United States but we have to try. Doing nothing is literally what got us here in the first place.
Yuri Bezmenov died in January 5, 1993. He was 54 years old. He reminds us that communism requires patience and perseverance to alter the perceptions of the people. The only way to circumvent it is to practice due diligence and never allow it to go unchallenged.
“America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within.”
– Joseph Stalin
“The press is our chief ideological weapon.”
– Nikita Khrushchev
