Is the Left to Blame for Alexandria attack?

Steve ScaliseThe lunatics are on the grass, the paper holds their folded faces to the floor and every day the paper boy brings more.”—Pink Floyd-Dark Side of the Moon.

A rifle-wielding attacker opened fire on Republican lawmakers at a congressional baseball practice Wednesday, wounding House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) and several others as congressmen and aides dove for cover. The assailant, prepared with “a lot of ammo,” fought a gun battle with police firing some 50 rounds before he, too, was shot and later died.

Scalise dragged himself off the infield leaving a trail of blood as colleagues rushed to his assistance.

The shooter was identified as James T. Hodgkinson, a 66-year-old home inspector from Illinois who had several minor run-ins with the law in recent years and belonged to a Facebook group called “Terminate the Republican Party.” Hodgkinson’s Facebook page features a banner image of Senator Bernie Sanders and a profile picture about Democratic Socialism. His profile picture says, “Democratic Socialism explained in 3 words: ‘We the People’ Since 1776.”

Hodgkinson is a Belleville, Illinois, native, according to his Facebook page. He owns a company, JTH Inspections, also called JTH Construction, and studied at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.

Apparently, he was in Virgina for two months and spent at least two weeks casing the field. He must have found out the date and time of the game and went there at 5 a.m. in the morning which is when the practice started.

“I Want to Say Mr. President, for being an ass hole you are Truly the Biggest Ass Hole We Have Ever Had in the Oval Office,” he wrote on Facebook.

It seems to me Hodgkinson is the true asshole to try something like this. A sampling of his letters he wrote to the Illinoise paper where he lived and on his Facebook page shows a very disturbed and misguided person. Hodgkinson’s  Facebook page shows someone who had a high interest in politics, who supported Bernie Sanders during the presidential election and expressed anger with President Donald Trump and Republican Congressmen. Hodgkinson, the Belleville man accused of shooting at congressmen and aides during practice for a congressional baseball game Wednesday, has written a number of letters to the editor of the Belleville News-Democrat.

In them, he often railed against Republicans and tax policies with statements such as this : ‘I have never said life sucks, only the policies of the Republicans’

Shortly after the shooting, Bernie Sanders, the former candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, said on the Senate floor that the shooter apparently was a volunteer for his campaign last year. Sanders said he denounced the violence “in the strongest possible terms.”

Capitol Police officers who were in Scalise’s security detail wounded the shooter, who was taken into custody. He later died of his injuries, President Donald Trump told the nation from the White House. GOP Rep. Steve Scalise, Others Shot at Va. Baseball Field

This Should come as no surprise as Hollywood elitists, the MSM and the DNC spend much of their time glorifying the concept of beheading the President, creating plays depicting killing the President, Outfitting their ‘so called’ protesters in ISIS garb, and 24/7 rants of HATRED for the GOP….sooner or later some of their deranged, drug-induced minions will follow the DNC to carry out the HATE that they preach.

What do you expect when Broadway has a play running where Trump is assassinated.  When Hillary supporters do photo ops holding up the severed head of Pres. Trump! Where hundreds of websites actively call for the death of the President and his family!!!

This is what happens when the media, Left wing Senators and Reps., late night talk show hosts, Hollywood Celebrities, and other Hillary supporting people and groups WILL NOT ACCEPT AND SUPPORT THE VICTORY OF PRESIDENT TRUMP!

This is the fault of the hate that the left has shown since Nov 7th. They kept asking Trump if he would accept the results of the election if he lost, but yet they  (Democrats,  Liberals, Snow Flakes and the Hollywood losers) have just totally lost it since he became our President and refuse too except the results. I’m not sad he is dead.  He got what he deserved and I thank the two policemen who risked their lives to save everyone there. The hate out there today fueled by celebrities is unbelievable and classless. The tolerant Left sure has a lot to learn about democracy and opposing viewpoints.

Thank you, Kathy Griffin, NYT, Shakespeare in the Park, CNN, and all of the media who are creating the atmosphere we are seeing every day. They want this propaganda out there. This nutjob is the result of that propaganda. He’s a loser big time.

These people like Kathy Griffin and the Shakespeare players who put on this disgusting, dreadful play must all live in a bubble and think they reach just people who agree with them. They obviously don’t realize that what they are doing with their careless acts of depicting violence is influencing all these insane and abnormal people out there to act out their hate and rage. Next time it could be one of them who is the dead victim.

Shortly after the shooting Wednesday morning at a congressional baseball practice, Rep. Mark Walker (R-N.C.) told NBC News that it appeared the “gunman was there to kill as many Republican members as possible.” Walker, who was at the practice for the upcoming annual congressional baseball game in Alexandria, Virginia, confirmed he was “shaken but okay.”

Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) recounted an “odd” encounter he had as he was leaving the field just minutes before the shooting: “There was a guy that walked up to us that was asking whether it was Republicans or Democrats out there, and it was just a little odd,” DeSantis told Fox News. Rep. Mark Walker says gunman targeted congressional baseball practice ‘to kill

In a rare plea for bipartisanship, leaders of both parties in the U.S. House of Representatives called for Republicans and Democrats to come together in the wake of a shooting Wednesday morning that wounded Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana.

“We are united,” Majority Leader Paul Ryan of Wisconsin said on the floor of the chamber. “We are united in our shock. We are united in our anguish. An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us.”

The remarks garnered a standing ovation from members on both sides of the aisle. Both Ryan and minority leader Nancy Pelosi praised the Capitol Police for their bravery in returning fire, as well as the Alexandria first responders, who were on the scene within minutes. Paul Ryan: ‘An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us’

  1. Ultimately the blame for all that we do as individuals rests between our own individual shoulders. I’m convinced that people of a certain type join the democrat party because they have no concept of this principle and cannot bear to face the fact that they, personally, ARE individually responsibility for their own actions. The results are that we can preach a message like this article all we want but in the end those who need to understand that message the most – WON’T! They cannot. They are worse than little children who are at least teachable.

  2. We can’t play the “blame game” unless we are willing to begin with ourselves as well as our party of choice. BOTH parties must learn that “compromise” does NOT mean caving in, it means ALL get some of what they want and next round their slice of the pie might be the biggest. Of course, the first lesson should be a remedial course to recall the promise of their oath of office and learn to tell the difference between ‘service to the people/Country and being self serving.

EVERYONE needs to stop using the ugly hate speech and be brave enough to ask those that do to “knock it off!”

Parents….go to those parent/teacher meetings and stop in at school boards meetings…..you may well be alarmed at what you hear….Hug those kiddos and LISTEN to what they are saying!!
