Unbelievable: Panetta-OK to Cut Military Pay

In a parting shot Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta has recommended a pay CUT to our military. Below is the Army pay scale.

When one in five Federal workers is making over $100,000 (459,000 workers) it is atrocious that our soldiers pay should be first cut. As is obvious from the above chart most of our brave enlisted men and women barely make enough to care for themselves, let alone a family. Many are already eligible for food stamps and other low income assistance.

Do you know we taxpayers paid $28,000 per week so that Secretary Panetta could fly home to be with his family every week?

Why cut those who serve in harms way to keep us safe? Is this politics as usual? Or is it because the GI’s have little say and are not represented by the powerful public sector unions?

  1. I guess Panetta is on board with the Obama plan of putting more on the food stamps program. The military with the exception of the flag officers are under payed by civilian standards, and cutting their pay only leads to demoralization. Cutting military pay to have more money for social programs for those to lazy to work is not only wrong, but idiotic.

  2. Under Lyndon Johnson’s Administration the payrate of a SFC-E6 with a family of four was considered to be BELOW the poverty level of America..I lived on it)…not much has changed…Many of our military at the enlisted level are food stamp recipients !!!

Panetta has been quite ‘vocal’ about DOD cuts being harmful to our Military strength….Silly me, I thought ‘strength’ included recruiting & maintaining personnel…

Panetta is obviously doing his best to help ‘the boy who would be king’ bring us to our knees….I get on my knees for no one but my Creator!!

This idiot was a neridas (nerdy idoit ass) when in the Clinton era…some things should not be recycled!!

  3. The payscale of Congress, the executive branch & all federal employess should be the same as the US military, and never exceed the income of the average American. That would sort things out PDQ.

    1. The Federal Government’s scale ought to be reviewed in light of our current economic conditions. Everyone shares the pain. The President, Congress, Federal employees. Judge, everyone working for the government.
