This is what Limbaugh was talking about, that’s for sure. Too bad his wish hadn’t come true.
Yes, to bad.
I was at Wal Mart last night and bought this little dab of stuff. When the checkout girl told me the total my first thought was, “How could it be that much?” I ran my card and when I got my receit I looked at the prices and noticed that some of this same stuff just two years ago was half what I paid this time.
I get it that the economy is bad, but you know how the gasoline prices fell so quickly the last time they went up so fast, we see the price of gas lingering at around $3.60 a gallon. Those in power over the price of a barrel of oil realized that it had to go down before it caused serious economic damage to our economy, but before Wal Mart started having to raise it’s prices due to their truck drivers having to raise their costs, the venders Wal Mart gets it’s stuff from had to raise their prices due to the costs of fuel and rising associated costs to those venders. This time we’re not seeing any drop in the price of a barrel of oil due to the problem in the Gulf Obama is causing. We shouldn’t be paying over $1.80-$1.90 a gallon for gas, not what we are. So Wal Mart doesn’t have much of a choice but to raise prices much higher and faster than they used to.
But, gee whiz it’s costing me a hell of a lot of money to buy stuff at Wal Mart when I don’t have any other place to go to buy the things I need, like food? Where else can I go where I can save money and be able to buy what I need? If I can’t buy that stuff at places like Wal Mart, then where do I go, now? I have found that there is cheaper prices on some of the stuff I have bought at Wal Mart at some of my local area better grocery stores. Use to, you didn’t go to a grocery store if you wanted to save money, because since it’s their business to sell groceries they had to charge more. But not so much anymore. But the downside is I can’t afford to drive all over town to try to save a few cents because it’s costing me dollars in gasoline to save pennies. Sorry, I’m forced to go to the Wal Mart near by and I just have to accept the fact that it won’t be saving me money anymore, and that’s just the way it is.
