Through the work of Governor Bobby Jindal, Louisiana has been increasing its voucher program for students. Allowing families to choose schools that perform may be helping improve education in the state. A recent study by Students First put Louisiana at the top of its education policy report.
The voucher plan, while popular with parents desperate to find quality education in a safe environment for their children, is not liked by the state teachers’ union. In the interview below the president of the LA Teacher Union states that “vouchers are taking their children” as if they were owned by the school. Or, in the words of Governor Bobby Jindal: If you didn’t birth them, wipe them or feed them, they’re not yours!
It’s time to stand up everyone! Your children, your offspring, are not the property of the government or a government agent.
Oh, the tolerance that oozes from the hypocritical leftists!
Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis giving the keynote speech at the Illinois Labor History Society’s 2012 Union Hall of Honor, where she talks about the 19th Century Union leaders being “ready to kill” those who opposed the unions in that day. When someone claps, she seems to get a bit nervous, saying that she doesn’t think we are at that point today, “but the key is that they think nothing about killing us.”
2/7/12 Tonight on the Dark Side we’ll run down primary results and I’ll tell you why I think non-Romney voters should still take heart. We’ll also discuss the shocking school sex abuse scandal out of Los Angeles County and why the unions are directly to blame for years of abuse in one school. Every parent with a child in the California public school system will want to hear the details of this sordid case. Plus, the 9th Circus Court rules on Prop 8. Tune in tonight at 10pm ET, 7pm Pacific.
