More Obstructionism from Obama's Senate Democrats

Senate Democrats, led by  Majority Leader Sir Harry Reid once again blocked a simple vote on an FCC rule-blocking resolution in the U.S. Senate today by a total of 52 – 46. You see, Harry Reid is desperately trying to protect big government Liberal Democrats from having to vote on important legislation simply to try to hide them from their Liberal agenda of the past five years. This kind of irresponsibility in refusing to carry on the people’s business is inexcusable, especially when we have a President on the campaign trail 24/7, bellyaching and misleading the American people in saying that Republicans are not doing anything to try to improve our economy, or move the nation forward.  Again, speak to the Harry Reid-led Senate Democrat party of no, Mr. President, as this episode is another example of how empty your Republican- rhetoric is today.

I have included a picture of Harry Reid and his political posse of irresponsible obstructionist here, just in case you  are having trouble identifying who is responsible for our Congress failing to do it’s duly-elected duties today. Take a good look Mr. President. These are your culprits, so climb down off your taxpayer-funded- ozone-destroying corporate campaign jet and head on over to the Senate office building and  tell them what a fool they are making you look like in blaming Republicans for the inaction of Congress over the past 11 months.

This Senate vote to block the FCC net neutrality rules that are slated to go into effect on Nov. 20th was done on a strictly party-line vote, with one glaring exception: Past leaders in the drive to impose the network neutrality laws,  Sen. John McCain  (R-AZ) and Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) chose to not do their duly elected jobs and were recorded as ” not voting.”  These irresponsible Congressional critters who hide from votes, or refuse to put up a recorded vote in our Congress so the people can hold them accountable in future elections need to be fined and or recalled from congress.  Enough is enough! If people can recall Senators from State legislatures across America simply because Unions spend millions of Union workers dues to spread misinformation and demand a recall election, then it’s high time we the people be allowed to take the same action against the tyrants of the U.S.  Senate who refuse to move this country forward by playing political games with America’s future.

2012 just can’t get here fast enough!

Stop the Nonsense Mr. President

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor would like to know just who President Obama is talking about when he recently stated, “I’m waiting for THEM to act.” ( in today’s campaign jobs speech) Of course in keeping with his current campaign pattern of whining that Republicans are “blocking his jobs bill,” we can safely assume that President Obama is referring to Republicans when he says “THEM.”  Mr. Cantor however, along with about 50 million other informed American citizens would like to see President Obama actually pin the tale on the donkey so to speak, and demand that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid put the now 18 House-passed job creation bills up for a vote in the U.S. Senate. Yes Mr. President, we can’t wait to hear your excuses for not demanding that Harry Reid bring the House-passed jobs bills up for a vote.

Stop the nonsense and get on over to the Senate and have a chat with Prince Harry about why he is making you look like a fool running around the country blaming Republicans for what is in fact, Harry Reid’s very own Senate obstructionism.

The American people are not being fooled by your never-ending reelection campaign ploy of trying to blame the Republicans for not passing job creating bills.  The following facts speak for themselves, contrary to your current campaign  rhetoric. You are correct Mr. President, We cant Wait for you to stop the nonsense of stating that you “Are waiting for THEM to act,” when in fact “THEM” is none other than your very own Democratic Party’s Senate Leader Harry Reid that is denying our duly elected Congress from passing legislation that would promote job creation in America today.
2012 just can’t get here fast enough!

Jobs Bill Goes Down in Flames in Senate Vote

President Obama’s fabled American Jobs Act failed in a vote in the United States Senate last night, 50-49. While the AP states that “The Senate Republicans voted last night to ‘kill’ the jobs package,” Democratic Senators Ben Nelson and Jon tester both also voted against Obama’s jobs bill. They are both up for reelection in states Obama figures to lose in next year’s elections. With both Democratic Senators acknowledging that a vote for this fake jobs bill could very well get them fired next year due to the obvious fact that the voters do not approve of this bill, then why would the rest of the Democrats be voting against the wishes of the people once again? (as they did in the Obama-care vote) This is further proof that when we the people say no more fake Stimulus packages, no new taxes, and no more government intervention into our lives, we mean it! (and will vote accordingly) The GOP now seems to be “getting it” and yet the Democrats still do not seem capable of understanding just what message we were sending in the historic beating they took in the 2010 elections, and what it was all about.

Harry Reid-the-game-player even went so far as to pull another trick last night in trying to shove this jobs bill down Americans throats against the wishes of the majority of the citizens. He actually voted against Barack Obama’s jobs bill! After all of his ranting and raving up on the Senate floor in trying to rally the Democrats to pass the jobs bill, why in the world would Harry then turn around and vote against it? I,ll let the AP tell you why:

The $447 billion plan died on a 50-49 tally that garnered a majority of the 100-member Senate but fell well short of the 60 votes needed to keep the bill alive. The tally had been 51-48, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., switched his vote to “nay” so that he could force a future revote.

(emphasis mine)

Harry Reid just nuked the U.S. Senate in order to supposedly stop unnecessary debates in the Senate to be able to devote more time to deal with “all of the important business” that they need to do, and yet sets up another waste of time jobs bill vote by changing his own vote. Harry the hypocrite strikes again.

Harry isn’t giving up on ramming Obama’s fake jobs bill down American’s throats, and neither is Barack: “Tonight’s vote is by no means the end of this fight,” Obama said in a statement after the vote. “Because with so many Americans out of work and so many families struggling, we can’t take `no’ for an answer.” Once again, we the people say we will kick anyone out of office voting for this retread of the failed stimulus fraud, and Obama says “we won’t take no for an answer.” Barack also says that any Senator who votes no on this measure should have to look the voters in the eye and explain why they voted against it. Explaining why they honored the wishes of we the people and voted down your fake jobs bill isn’t difficult at all Mr. President, especially while I’m patting my Senators on the back for listening to the hundreds of calls we made demanding that they vote down your Stimulus 2.0. Jobs are needed for all Americans, not just your Union bed-pals and campaign donors. Now that is has been defeated, do you think our President will actually get off the Pass My Jobs Bill campaign trail and do the job he as elected to do in the future? Don’t count on it, as he has stated that he won’t take no for an answer. When we the people vote him out of our White House in 2012, maybe he will wish he had said “YES WE CAN: listen to the people, instead of asking his stage props at his way-too-numerous campaign tours to chant “Four more years.” We can’t take four more years of 9.1% unemployment, big government expansion and the massive push towards Socialism that has come with the hope and change fraud of 2008. We can’t.. and we won’t.

UPDATE: Senator Mike Lee explained to Greta Van Susteren, just why the Jobs Bill failed in the Senate.

Senate to Vote on China Currency Manipulation Bill Monday

While China has purposely devalued it’s currency, hurting the value of the U.S. dollar over the last decade, neither the Obama or G.W. Bush administrations have actually taken the step to formally designate China as a currency manipulator in any annual reports in the past decade. Failure to designate China as a currency manipulator prevents the U. S. government from being able to apply tariffs on Chinese imports or start investigations into currency manipulation. Senate Democrats will now introduce a bill on Monday that will try to push the issue of China’s currency manipulation, and supposedly open the door for U.S. companies to seek tariffs against Chinese imports if they are found to be artificially keeping their products cheap through keeping it’s currency devalued. Considering our current recession, provoking a trade war with China is a very dangerous thing according to many political insiders, including Jon Huntsman, the former ambassador to China and current presidential candidate who told Fox news, " You take action against China, you can expect them to rebut that action with commensurate tariffs," he said. "During a recession, you don’t want a trade war."

China came right out with their opinion about this proposed bill that included a warning when Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Hong Lei last week urged US lawmakers to "reconsider their decision and refrain from pushing through the bill" and warned against "politicizing economic trade issues and resorting to trade protectionism."  And in another  news bulletin, the Chinese government news agency Xinhua has made its views perfectly clear, "It’s generally agreed, too, that structural problems in America rather than the Chinese currency are responsible for America’s economic difficulties….To put it simply, current anti-yuan moves in the U.S. Senate are more like a publicity attempt to attract voters and distract attention from the real problems facing the U.S. economy." (emphasis mine)

With Liberal Democrat’s policies of doing such things as not passing a budget for three years running, $1.5 trillion dollar deficits, and massive big government expansion resulting in our current recession, high unemployment and low-to-zero economic growth, Xinhua news agency’s statement does carry a good amount of weight there. Democrats are staring at  the very plausible reality of losing the U.S. Senate in 2012, (along with the White House) and they look like they are making a desperate attempt to curry favor with voters with this bill.

The U.S. treasury has also refused to officially denounce China’s currency manipulation when they had the chance in May of this year in an official report, which could be part of the reason the Senate is trying to pass this bill and force China’s hand in some way. Should it backfire and start a trade war with China, U.S exporters could really be hurt, along with companies who export their products, and cause the loss of American jobs.

Considering that China has been doing this same devaluing of their currency for over  a decade now, we have to wonder why Democrats didn’t make this move during their 4 straight years of iron-fisted "my way or the highway" Congressional rule of 2007-2011. Considering China’s recent statements about the U.S. Government getting their own house in order instead of trying to tell China how to run their economy, we also have to wonder if this bill isn’t simply all show and no go. (as in useless rhetoric) While some politicians are want to say this will create jobs in the U.S. while setting themselves for  "working for the people" campaign slogans for the 2012 elections, there is no guarantee that the passage of this bill will actually accomplish anything. Our politicians have dug themselves into a very deep hole by letting China get away with currency manipulation for such a long time now, that China basically laughs every time we bring up supposed "tough measures" against them.

The White House has not really supported this bill, nor denounced it either. Spokesman Jay Carney did his usual Maytag high speed spin act when asked about this bill:

"We share the goal of achieving further appreciation of China’s currency. As you know, and those in the financially oriented press know,  China has moved some in terms of appreciating its currency. I believe it’s appreciated about 10 percent, adjusted for inflation, since June of 2010. But it’s substantially undervalued, and we need to see continued progress, and we’ve made that clear publicly and privately."

Mr. Carney says he believes China’s currency has appreciated about 10 percent, adjusted for inflation. Would that same adjustment be like the zero-inflation statistic the Obama administration keeps throwing at Americans, while gasoline is still up 65% higher than when Obama took office, food prices are soaring, and the price of electricity is going to really put folks in a bind again this winter? If Mr. Carney and Mr. Obama have made it so clear that China needs to stop devaluing their currency, then why are they still doing it? One could draw the conclusion that while our Congress raised our debt ceiling, and therefore allowed the U.S. government to borrow another 2.5 trillion dollars this summer, maybe Barack Obama was too embarrassed to ask them to stop devaluing their currency while he was there with hat in hand asking to borrow  a few trillion more from them?

It will be interesting to watch politicians from both parties stand up in Congress and tell the American people just what tireless workers they are for the people, and what miraculous numbers of jobs that will be "projected" to be created ( in 30 or 40 years) by this "courageous" legislative bill by the wizards of Congress. The very same wizards that have us fast-approaching $15 trillion dollars in debt and staring at record long-time high unemployment and foreclosure numbers. In the meantime, Barack Obama is still screaming at them to pass his fake jobs bill and this country is still running without a budget.  2012 just can not get here fast enough.

Senate Bill 679 A Blatant Act of Treason Against America

On March 30th, 2011, Senator Chuck Shumer (D-NY) and 15 co-sponsors in the U.S. Senate proposed S679, The prseidential Appointment Efficiency and Streamlining Act. My how nice that sounds there, until we look into just what kind of streamlining they are talking about here. In a nutshell they want to give the President the sole power to appoint people to very powerful positions within our government without the approval of the Senate, which just happens to be mandated by the U.S. Constitution in Article II, Section 2, which explains that the the “Appointments Clause” provides that the President:

… shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law: but the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments. (emphasis mine)
This is a part of our checks and balances found within our Constitution to protect America from becoming a dictatorship, such as Venezuela has become under Hugo Chavez, and that Communist countries have used to oppress their people for centuries. With the recent injection of illegal “Czars” into powerful positions within our government by Barack Obama, we see the direct results of what happens when the executive branch is given too much power and it goes unchecked. Today have several radical Socialists heading up powerful agencies, such as Cass Sunstein heading up the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs which is well detailed here. How this man was ever allowed into our government into the position of a de-facto ” Propaganda Minister ” should raise the eyebrows of every single U.S Senator or Congressman. If S679 is allowed to pass we can expect to see hundreds of Socialists and assorted radicals appointed to powerful positions in our government without so much as a background check. (Remember the Communist Van Jones being appointed as the ” Green Jobs Czar? ” ) I call Sunstein a Propaganda Minister as we see some of his views from the above linked article:
It is this history of government deceit and wrongdoing that renders Sunstein’s desire to use covert propaganda to “undermine” anti-government speech so repugnant.  The reason conspiracy theories resonate so much is precisely that people have learned — rationally — to distrust government actions and statements.  Sunstein’s proposed covert propaganda scheme is a perfect illustration of why that is.  In other words, people don’t trust the Government and “conspiracy theories” are so pervasive precisely because government is typically filled with people like Cass Sunstein, who think that systematic deceit and government-sponsored manipulation are justified by their own Goodness and Superior Wisdom. (emphasis mine)
S679 is probably the biggest threat to American freedom and independance that we will ever see in our lifetime. The fact that it was proposed almost a month ago with little or no media exposure is especially troubling. I follow the news and political bulletins every single day, and I almost missed this dangerous act of treason being promoted by the U.S. Senate and Barack Obama. In further researching this stealth act of treason masquerading as a way to streamline our government, I found the list of Senators behind this act of treason over at the NewAmerican:
The following lawmakers have appended their names to the bill as co-sponsors:
Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.), Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.), Sen. Thomas Carper (D-Del.), Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Sen. Richard Durbin (D-Ill.), Sen. Mike Johanns (R-Neb.), Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.), Sen. Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.), Sen. Richard Lugar (R-Ind.), Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Sen. John Reed (D-R.I.), Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.), and Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.).
This act of treason has bi-partisanship support from both parties of the U.S. Senate, as we see above.  Every single one of these Senators should be brought up on charges of treason against the United States of America, and should also be called on the carpet by every freedom-loving, Constitution-respecting U.S. citizen.  This bill is rolling right through the U. S. Senate at breakneck speed, lest the people find out  just what these tyrants are up to here, as we see from the Senatus website:

Today, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee approved by Voice Vote a bill to “streamline the nominations process,” according to a press release.  (emphasis mine)

The bipartisan Presidential Appointment Efficiency and Streamlining Act of 2011, S. 679 – sponsored by Rules Committee Chairman Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., and Ranking Member Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., and co-sponsored by Homeland Security Committee Chairman Joe Lieberman, ID-Conn., and Ranking Member Susan Collins, R-Me. – would eliminate Senate confirmation for about 200 presidential nominees and set in motion a process to streamline and consolidate the many forms nominees are required to fill out. The Rules Committee is working on a companion resolution to exclude a number of board and commission appointments from the Senate nomination process.

So there you have it folks, a group of U.S. Senators is trying to nullify the checks and balances installed into the U.S. Constitution to protect America from any one branch of government becoming to powerful, which leads to the robbing of freedoms from the American people. This is a prime example of why we need to gut the United States Senate as much as possible in 2012 and beyond. Fire every single one of these anti-American, Constitution-destroying tyrants and restore our government to being Of the People, For the People, and By the People. This is the danger of electing and reelecting progressive idelogues into our government. Pay attention people, as S. B. 679 opens the floodgates for more radical Socialists to be installed into our government without any accountability. Remember these Senators come 2012
