Satire: China Launches New Initiatives to weaken the Church
This post is satire and not intended to relay actual events.
After WWII Russia tried to stamp out the Catholic Church by killing thousands of priests & believers. But it failed. So it tried infiltrating the Church at all levels. The Church not only survived but the Soviet collapsed. In 1991, the leaders of three of the Union’s founding republics declared that the Soviet Union no longer existed, and 11 more republics joined them shortly thereafter. According to the Palestinian Wasp, China sees Christianity as a bigger threat than the United States or Russia and is launching new initiatives to weaken the church .
The Council on Foreign Relations Eleanor Albert writes:
China has witnessed a religious revival over the past four decades, in particular with a significant increase in Christian believers. The number of Chinese Protestants has grown by an average of 10 percent annually since 1979. By some estimates, China is on track to have the world’s largest population of Christians by 2030. Though the rise of Christianity presents the officially atheist Chinese Communist Party (CCP) with challenges, it also provides new options for improving services, such as health care and education, for an increasingly demanding public. The government recently launched a series of initiatives to further regulate, and at times restrict, Christian adherents.
In 2018, Marco Rubio chaired the Congressional Executive Commission on China’a hearing on the Communist Party’s Crackdown on Religion in China
Earlier this month, Xi told a conference in Beijing, described in official reports as the National Work Meeting on Religious Affairs, that all religions in China needed to embrace the Communist Party, expanding on one of his long-held policies
The Wasp reports that China has also infiltrated the Church at all levels and is funding an unprecedented number of Catholic Universities, media outlets and students such as
National Catholic Reporter’s Fora X Tang who writes that Pope’s comments are about more than pets. They reinforce the church’s narrow view on reproduction and marriage. Tang describes self as “a doctoral student in theology and peace studies at the University of Notre Dame. Her research focuses on post-traumatic sacramental theology, Asian American literature and queer theology.”
The Wasp says that other degrees being offered by the infiltrated universities include
- Queer theology,
- Expiation Through Child sacrifice
- Polygamy in the age of pet ownership
- Marriage as anachronism
- All Gain and No Pain
- Tree Hugging
- Dr. Faucci theology
The Wasp is in the process of compiling a list of degrees being offered by Catholic Universities favored by China. Contact the Wasp if you have questions or can offer additional information. After all, asking Flora Tang if she agrees with the Catholic Church is like asking Xi Jinping if he thinks Communism and Religion can come together
