Paramount Pictures released another trailer for the upcoming holiday release of Bumblebee, a spin-off focus film highlighting the most empathetic member of the Autobots, Bumblee.
Our yellow savior of earthlings pairs up with a girl this time and takes the form of a classic Volkswagon Beetle – and no, I don’t think you’re kids will understand if you hit them on the shoulder and yell “slug bug” everytime he transforms a yellow VW.
The film centers on the relationship between Bumblebee and Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld) and their struggle to defend the Earth against the invading Decepticons – only this time, he doesn’t have Optimus Prime and the Autobots as back-up.
On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie, on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.
The film also features John Cena (Agent Burns) and the voice talent of Angela Bassett (Shatter) and Justin Theroux (Dropkick).
Bumblebee is directed by Travis Knight and will be in theaters this Christmas.
