Kavanaugh accuser’s sworn letters don’t actually prove anything
Attorneys for Brett Kavanaugh accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, submitted four sworn declarations to the Senate Judiciary Committee that they say back up Ford’s allegations – but they actually don’t.
In documents sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee and obtained by USA TODAY, Ford’s attorneys present declarations from Ford’s husband, Russell, and three friends who support the California college professor’s accusation that Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed, groped her and attempted to pull off her clothes while both were high school students in 1982.
First, the letters do NOT support her accusations against Kavanaugh, they simply say that Ford recently told people close to her about the alleged assault. None of them were witnesses, none have any first-hand knowledge of the event and none swore to such facts.
Second, it’s her “husband and three friends.” Really?!? This is all the evidence her lawyers plan to present? Four people close to the accuser have sworn that she told them about the attack. Heck, they aren’t even on the hook for perjury or defamation because Ford has told the world that she was allegedly attacked, why wouldn’t she have told the same thing to her husband and friends first? Whether the allegations are true or not doesn’t matter as it pertains to the sworn statements. Only that she told those people that she believes she was attacked by Kavanaugh.
Will Kavanaugh’s lawyers produce sworn statements from Mrs. Kavanaugh, their daughters and Brett’s best friends that all say he told them that he never assaulted anyone? That would be exactly the same thing as what Ford’s lawyers have done. It’s hearsay at best, useless propaganda in truth. But, it does accomplish one thing: it’s one more thing Democrats can use to delay Ford’s scheduled testimony tomorrow and, mark my words, they will pull out every stop to make sure Christine Blasey Ford does NOT end up in that hearing.
Morally bankrupt Democrats are likely helping Ms. Blasey Ford ruin her reputation and her life, but they don’t care as long as she takes Kavanaugh down with her.
These sworn statements mean nothing, are nothing and will do nothing. Republicans will confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court and hopefully, they’ll do it Friday.
