Thanks to a brand new trailer from AMC, we now know when “The Walking Dead: Season 9″ will air, and we get a tiny taste of what’s in store.
Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) told fans at the San Diego Comic-Con that this will be his character’s last season, so expect this season to set up and facilitate his exit. Oh, and when characters exit the show, it’s usually not pretty (e.g. Lori Grimes, Carl, Andrea, Beth Greene, Abraham Ford, Glenn, Hershel Greene, Dale Horvath, Tyreese, Sasha … you get the point.)
The almost 6-minute trailer shows Rick as the leader of a massive settlement made up of a collection of “communities.” The survivors are thriving with Negan no longer a problem and an absence of any other major external threats (except Zombies, of course.) But, all is not well in Grimes’ little “sanctuary.”
Season 9 of “The Walking Dead” airs October 7, on AMC.
AMC, on the show’s website, also offered up two photos taken from season 9 episodes.
