Fox News host Jeanine Pirro was ticketed Sunday afternoon after she was clocked by New York State Police at 119 mph in a 65 mph zone.
The “Justice With Judge Jeanine” host was pulled over in upstate New York according to a State Police spokesman.
“I had been driving for hours to visit my ailing 89-year-old mom and didn’t realize how fast I was driving,” Pirro, a former judge, said in a statement. “I believe in the rule of law, and I will pay the consequences.”
There is no mention of what kind of car Pirro was driving.
According to state law, anyone going more than 40 mph over the limit could be assessed 11 points and have their license suspended.
“The DMV assigns points for certain traffic violations,” the New York State DMV website reads. “If you get 11 points in an 18-month period, your driver license may be suspended.”
The ticket is due Jan. 8 and can be handled by mail or in-person.
