Supreme Court Restores Trump Travel Ban
The Supreme Court of the United States has issued a temporary order restoring President Donald Trump‘s restrictions on immigration and travel from nations terrorists might use to gain access to the U.S.
Justice Anthony Kennedy stayed a 9th Circuit Court ruling that had placed restrictions on Trump’s travel ban. The stay will allow the ban to remain in effect until the Supreme Court considers Trump’s order in October.
The lower court had ruled that 24,000 immigrants who had received assurances of accommodation from the U.S. would have to be let in.
This newest ruling keeps the 9th Circuit at the top of the list of the most overturned appeals courts in the U.S.
The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear arguments on the entire travel ban on October 10.
