U.S., S. Korea working military options after largest N. Korea nuke test ever

North Korea conducted its largest ever nuclear weapons test which may signal that the dictatorial regime has engineered and tested a hydrogen bomb.

Seismic sensors indicated an event equal to a 6.3 magnitude earthquake which experts say indicate a blast yield of between 100 and 120 kilotons – the atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki was just 21 kt.

The test was conducted underground and was several times stronger than their previous test performed in September of 2016.

North Korea described the test as a “perfect success in the test of a hydrogen bomb for an ICBM.” Pyongyang said, “the creditability of the operation of the nuclear warhead is fully guaranteed.”

The president used Twitter to issue his thoughts on North Korea’s provocative action.

“North Korea has conducted a major Nuclear Test,” Trump tweeted. “Their words and actions continue to be very hostile and dangerous to the United States. North Korea is a rogue nation which has become a great threat and embarrassment to China, which is trying to help but with little success. South Korea is finding, as I have told them, that their talk of appeasement with North Korea will not work, they only understand one thing!”

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin told Fox News that they are working on sanctions against North Korea that will cut off “all trade” with the rogue nation effectively isolating them from the world.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders released a statement saying that the President and his national security team are meeting about the test, but gave no further details.

Coming out of a meeting with his advisors, President Trump responded to a reporter who asked if he was going to attack North Korea.

“We’ll see,” he responded indicating that the president would continue his policy of not forecasting moves to adversaries.

Also, an unconfirmed report says that South Korea and U.S. military officials are working a military response to the nuclear test.

Just before the nuclear test, state-controlled North Korean media released pictures of leader Kim Jong-un inspecting a missile-ready Hydrogen bomb and observing its loading into the nose cone of an ICBM

Despite the abysmal failure of talks and agreements to slow North Korea’s nuclear ambitions, critics of President Trump are still demanding talk over action, but we’ve been doing that for more than 20 years:

Indeed, Trump inherited the global threat that is North Korea not only from his immediate predecessor, Barack Obama, but also from Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton. And the truth is the country’s last three commanders in chief have all used various forms of diplomacy, strong language and even direct communication with North Korean leaders only to end up making little to no progress.

Or maybe this is an option:
