Columbia Lakes is a resort community of about 1,000 residents located north of East Columbia.
The Brazos was forecast to crest near West Columbia around 1 am Wednesday morning 4.5 feet above flood stage. The river is expected to create major flooding in the area and with the levee compromised, it will be much worse.
