John McCain Returns to Senate Tuesday
Just five days after having been diagnosed with brain cancer, John McCain announced Monday night on Twitter that he will return to Congress on Tuesday.
Look forward to returning to Senate tomorrow to continue work on health care reform, defense bill & #RussiaSanctions https://t.co/VQBtovnwF1

McCain is returning to a Senate deeply divided on the future of health care in the United States.
Democrats won’t vote for a bill that pulls back any features in Obamacare – much less the full repeal of the former president’s legacy law.
Senate Republicans are fighting over what they should even consider for debate. Some believe that only a bill that could pass the reconciliation rules should be considered. Others, a full repeal and replace and Conservatives favor a full repeal-only bill.
With McCain’s return, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell can lose two Republicans and still get a bill to the floor for debate, but it is unclear what bill, if any, that will be.
