The weekend box office totals for the weekend ending May 21st show that Alien: Convenant has overtaken Guardians of the Galaxy vol.2 in ticket sales making it the new #1 movie in America.
‘Alien: Covenant’ enjoyed a solid debut performance. The Ridley Scott directed film that is the second of the prequel series and the sixth ‘Alien’ feature film in the franchise earned $66.3 million globally. In second place is another kind of outer space film with Disney/Marvel’s lighthearted ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ crossing the $700 million mark at the worldwide box office.”
