Georgia Special Election Debacle a Grim Omen for Sad Sack Democrats

While it certainly doesn’t rank up there with the crushing sense of despair that followed Hillary Clinton’s crippling loss in November, the failure of a skinny unheralded Star Wars geek to win a Georgia special election has piled more woe upon the already damaged psyches of Democrats.

The Clinton cataclysm continues for Dems who just can’t catch a break and considering that they have yet to admit that their November electoral debacle was largely due to their own malodorous policies and putrid candidate it’s hard to see that happening anytime soon.

Tuesday’s Georgia special election was have to provided a soothing balm for the sores on the backs of liberals – that is if you listened to the same people who failed to predict that Hillary would get her clock cleaned in the general election.

It was a perfect opportunity to stick it to Trump and then to manage perception through the corrupt fake news media that the tide had indeed turned in order to motivate the troops for next year’s midterms. The deck was stacked as much in the favor of Democrats as possible in Georgia’s sixth congressional district with a massive field of candidates with one being heavily promoted and funded by party poobahs and celebrities as a referendum on President Donald Trump.

But the Dems lost again and while they are spinning it as a victory that’s just more propaganda along the lines of Trump being a puppet of the Kremlin or that the Democrats give a rat’s ass about the troubles facing middle class America.

Just call them losing losers who lose…. and then cry about it for months on end.

Congressional aide and agitprop filmmaker Jon Ossoff – a dead ringer for disgraced Anthony Weiner – failed to get the fifty percent of the vote that would have won the election outright. This is a massive defeat for Democrats no matter what the spin may be considering the amount of money that they dumped into the race to fill the vacant seat of Trump’s Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price.

Despite wheelbarrows of out-of-state dough, national party support, celebrity endorsements and the mobilization of internet Democrat party cheerleaders like Daily Kos, the weird looking Ossoff came up short of the magic number, depriving the left of a big celebration.

Ossoff is now headed to a June runoff election against where he won’t enjoy a fragmented field and will have to win a traditionally Republican stronghold in which the GOP will look to strangle the anti-Trump insurgency in its cradle. Dork Vader had better spend more time polishing his light saber for this upcoming battle, one that the Dems may not be so quick to pour money into now that they let their big chance slip away on Tuesday.

To say that Ossoff’s under performance was a morale crusher for Democrats is a very serious understatement.

As it became clear late Tuesday evening that Jon Ossoff would fall just short of the 50-percent mark in the first round of voting in a suburban Atlanta special election, Democrats back in Washington started leafing through their calendars and asking: When does the winning start?

Ossoff’s moral victory — capturing 48 percent of the vote in a conservative-oriented district — was welcome, but after two successive close-but-no-cigar finishes in House special elections in Georgia and Kansas, a new worry is beginning to set in.

For all the anger, energy, and money swirling at the grassroots level, Democrats didn’t manage to pick off the first two Republican-held congressional seats they contended for in the Trump era, and the prospects aren’t markedly better in the next few House races coming up: the Montana race at the end of May, and the South Carolina contest on June 20.

Their best shot at knocking Donald Trump down a peg appears to be Ossoff’s runoff against Republican Karen Handel, also scheduled for June 20. But the Democrat will be an underdog in that contest, when there won’t be a crowded field of Republicans to splinter the vote.

After that, it’ll be another five months before the New Jersey and Virginia elections for governor, leaving some strategists and lawmakers wondering how to keep the furious rank-and-file voters engaged in fueling and funding the party’s comeback — especially given the sky-high expectations that surrounded Ossoff’s ultimately unsuccessful run at the 50-percent threshold that was necessary to win the seat outright.

Now would probably be the time to start thinking about abandoning the moronic decision to bypass any sort of a legitimate political strategy in order to rile up the mobs against Trump and all of the horse hockey that his winning of the presidency was only possible due to Russian interference.

The great Trump-Putin conspiracy has suddenly gone missing from the media over the past week and the left has literally no fallback strategy. If they are going to avoid even more congressional losses in the midterms then someone who is running the show over at Team Jackass HQ had better come up with a plan and do it fast.

Not only will the Democrats fail to make inroads in the House and Senate but with the lamest field of potential candidates in recent history – a gaggle of travelers, commies and loons – then 2020 will be a sequel to Trumpagaddon.
