A look ahead at the president’s week

Saturday, April 29thwill mark the 100th day of the Trump presidency. Throughout this week President Trump will continue to deliver on his promises to the American people, from thinking big about exploration and discovery again, to protecting the farmers and ranchers that feed our country, to reasserting American power on the world stage. Members of his Cabinet will travel outside the beltway, spreading the President’s message across the country.

On Monday, the President will speak with NASA astronaut Dr. Peggy Whitson via video conference about the importance of empowering women to pursue educations and careers in STEM fields as she sets the record for the most time spent in space of any American. He will also host a working lunch with Ambassadors from the countries on the United Nations Security Council. That evening, he will attend a reception with conservative media, honoring his commitment to opening up the White House to a more diverse set of media outlets, followed by dinner with Senator McCain and Senator Graham. Secretary Chao will be visiting the Ohio State Transportation Research Center.

On Tuesday, he will give remarks at the National Holocaust Memorial Museum’s National Day of Remembrance. Later that day, he will host a roundtable discussion with farmers and sign an Executive Order to protect and provide relief for rural America. The White House also expects Secretary of Agriculture-designate Gov. Perdue to be sworn-in on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the President will outline his principles for tax reform. In addition, theWhite House will host Senators for a briefing with four principals on North Korea. The principals will be Secretary Tillerson, Secretary Mattis, the Director of National Intelligence Coats, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dunford. TheWhite House will also hold a regional media day where Cabinet officials and White House Senior Staff will be made available for interviews with local television and radio stations from across the country.

The Department of Homeland Security will roll out the Victims of Immigrant CrimeEngagement (VOICE) Office, fulfilling a promise the President made both on the campaign trail and with one of his first Executive Orders. Secretary Carson will be in Columbus, Ohio for a listening tour on urban housing.

On Thursday, the President of Argentina will come to the White House for an official visit. He will also sign an Executive Order with respect to Veterans (he will be moving the press conference to the week after). That evening, the President will have dinner with the Justices of the Supreme Court, including his successfully confirmed nominee Justice Neil Gorsuch.

On Friday, the President will move our country even further toward our goal of energy independence by signing several Executive Orders on energy. This builds on previous executive actions that have cleared the way for job-creating pipelines, innovations in energy production, and reduced unnecessary burden on energy producers. He will also give remarks at the National Rifle Association’s Leadership Forum in Atlanta, Georgia.

And on Saturday, the President will speak straight to the people about these achievements and the countless other successes of his first 100 days in office with an official event and one of his signature America First rallies.
