Current weather forecasts for the Houston area project waves of thunderstorms to roll through at least until Thursday and have kept flash flood warnings in effect until at least Tuesday afternoon.
The IRS has issued a reprieve for those affected by the floods.
The IRS announced Monday afternoon that taxpayers impacted by severe weather may qualify for an exemption from late filing penalties. Taxpayers with concerns are encouraged to call the IRS at 800-829-1040.
