Chris Christie: Just Another RINO

When Chris Christie first burst upon the scene in my state of New Jersey, I was really impressed with him. I liked his tough attitude with the media and saying just what he pleased. I didn’t like the media making fun of his weight. If he was a democrat they would be all sympathetic to him though I must admit he is overweight. I got a kick out of him being able to make fun of himself and appearing on David Letterman’s show eating a jelly doughnut (I would have preferred he appear with Jay Leno. I liked the idea that he came back at the doctor in the Obama administration who accused him of being too overweight and saying he could die which scared his daughter.

I watched during the Hurricane Sandy situation as he took calls from residents and made sincere promises to them and was impressed with him getting right down in the trenches with them and touring the worst hit areas and speaking frankly with the residents there. His approval rating in the state went to 76% and there was talk about him running for President in 2016 against Hillary.

Then things started to change. When Obama came for his quick five minute trip to the Jersey shore to survey the damage to see what help the government could supply, Christie gave him a big bear hug which turned a lot of conservatives off .I was willing to give him some slack there as sometimes you need to do things not necessarily popular to get what you want, but it didn’t stop there.

Now he’s appearing with Hillary in June at Bill Clinton’s Global Initiative. Hillary Clinton and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will be the featured attractions at next month’s Clinton Global Initiative in Chicago, according to a release going out from the group Thursday.

The focus of the gathering, which will take place June 13-14, is on speeding up the United States’ economic recovery and the nation’s long-term outlook.

It will be equally interesting, given that Clinton and Christie top most 2016 polls in their respective parties.

It marks the first time Hillary Clinton will appear at CGI America, which has become a signature event in her husband’s post-White House portfolio.

The event will also feature Chelsea Clinton, Clinton ally and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Treasury Secretary Jack Lew and a slew of business, labor and government officials.

I realize this is an attempt at political bipartisanship, but it is rubbing people the wrong way again and making Christie just another RINO (Republican In Name Only) or “democrat lite” as some say.

For a brief time, it looked as though he was actually CONSERVATIVE, really believed in our CONSTITUTION, but now he’s just sleeping with the enemy in hopes of bringing everyone together. This has always proven to be a bad idea. Everyone knows how ruthless Hillary is and what she does to her opponents.

I want the old Christie back. As Jacob Marley says to Scrooge in ”A Christmas Carol” “You still have a chance to become a good man,” As one comment I saw said, ”Hillary takes the cake and Christie eats it.” 😀

The following comment sums Christie and Obama up.

and yet never a word from the media with Sandy and Obama in the same sentence unlike Katrina and Bush, they are still blaming for working nature into a frenzy just to harm poor people. That is what bothers me most, no one will touch Obama or hold him accountable for anything like they blamed Bush for everything. I actually think they are right not to blame Obama for things he can’t control but the difference in the blame for Bush for things he couldn’t possibly control and Obama are breathtakingly corrupt. Christy overly praises the big O who never misses a good photo-op and then disappears never to be heard from again and the media fawns and forgets. Christie got Obama re-elected but why? He is a miserable president who hates half the country and uses the other half that he also hates. NJ has made nearly zero progress cleaning up the storm and getting life back to normal and yet crickets.
