EAGLE PASS, Texas—U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations (OFO) officers at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry seized more than $380K worth of cocaine over the weekend.
“While drug trafficking organizations employ a wide variety of methods to move their illicit product, CBP officers continue to utilize high tech tools coupled with inspection experience to interdict these hard narcotics loads and keep our communities safe,” said Port Director Paul Del Rincon, Eagle Pass Port of Entry.
The seizure occurred on Sunday, Dec. 19, when a CBP officer assigned to the Camino Real International Bridge II referred a passenger vehicle for secondary inspection. CBP officers conducted a physical examination of the vehicle resulting in the discovery of 20 packages containing cocaine.
The cocaine has an estimated street value of $380,630.
CBP officers seized the cocaine and vehicle. The driver was arrested, and the case was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security investigations (ICE-HSI) special agents for further investigation
