White House Says Vaccine Mandates are Answer to Labor Shortages

A White House spokesperson told reporters Friday that President Biden’s vaccine mandates were the solution to the labor crisis in the United States.

White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre held a press gaggle aboard Air Force One Friday where she was asked about the historically low labor participation rate.

“Labor shortages are also a factor into the supply-chain issue that the U.S. is currently experiencing,” one reporter stated. “Given the record drop that’s currently happening, why does the White think Americans aren’t returning to work?”

In a stammering, confused response, Jean-Pierre answered, “As you know, um, uh, you know, our, our economy still faces challenges. Uh, but the president is focused every day on addressing uh, on addressing the, the challenges ahead. We’re dealing with a once-in-a-generation, uh, uh, uh, as you know pandemic and vaccination requirements will allow our economy to thrive.”

The Biden administration is overseeing a civilian labor participation rate that is not recovering from the pandemic lows. As such, warehouses, retail establishments, ports and trucking companies do not have the workers they need to move goods across the nation. That is stranding hundreds of thousands of containers in ports and on ships anchored off shore for record amounts of time.

A massive number of workers have quit, participated in sick-outs, gone on strike, or been fired due to the vaccine mandates. Hospitals have record staffing shortages after having fired staff that did not want the still experimental treatments.

Add in the largest increase in food stamps, federal enhanced unemployment benefits, increased child tax credits (paid forward), and thousands in stimulus payments and some Americans simply don’t want to go back to work and don’t have to.

This is the best, unequivocal argument against universal basic income. It is a disincentive to work. And the economy needs workers – not vaccine mandates.
