The White House is struggling to explain President Joe Biden’s claim that he has driven an 18-wheeler truck, Fox News reported.
“I used to drive an 18-wheeler, man,” Biden said on Wednesday. “I got to.” The president claimed he had driven the massive trucks before while visiting a Mack Truck facility in Pennsylvania, according to Fox News.
The White House didn’t respond to an immediate question from the Daily Caller News Foundation about evidence towards this claim.
A White House spokesperson pointed to a December 1973 article from the Wilmington Evening Journal that showed Biden rode in an 18-wheeler, according to Fox News. The spokesperson also showed a United Federation of Teachers post that talked about Biden being a bus driver as a summer job.
“Most school buses have two axles, with the bigger models having two wheels on the front axle and four wheels on the dual axle, for a total of six wheels,” according to SchoolBusFleet.
Biden said Tuesday that unvaccinated Americans are “not nearly as smart” as those who’ve received the jab. “That’s under consideration right now, but if you’re not vaccinated, you’re not nearly as smart as I thought you were,” the president said.
Biden became the focus of a debate on Twitter after people thought he said on video that his “butt’s been wiped” on Monday.
