Comments on Impeachment

When asked about whether President Biden supported continuing the impeachment trial against former President Donald Trump and if the president thought it would slow Biden’s priorities, the press secretary said that the Senate managed to handle an impeachment trial and legislative work last year during the Russia Collusion Impeachment. She did not have a direct answer on whether Biden was in favor of the impeachment trial in the Senate.

On Coronavirus Vaccinations

Psaki was asked that since the Trump administration had already reached Biden’s goal of 1 million shots per day, would the Biden administration increase their goal or just claim success? Her response was basically that there is more work to do.

When will Biden’s vaccine clearing house website be available to citizens:

“I don’t have a timeline,” Psaki responded.

New York is about to run out of 1st dose vaccines, what is Biden doing about it:

Psaki responded that they have contacted the CDC to see if they have any ideas.

On D.C. Statehood

“The President has supported D.C. statehood in the past, that certainly remains his position,” Psaki stated.

Whether Biden Still Opposes Removing the Senate Filibuster Rule

“The president’s position hasn’t changed,” Psaki responded. “He’s spoken about this many times.”

Violence/Unrest in Seattle, Oregon

HHS is monitoring the situation.

On Chinese Treatment of Uighur Muslims

Psaki did not have a position to report on this issue.

On North Korea

Sec. Psaki: The president sees North Korea’s nuclear ballistic missile and other proliferation activities present a great threat to international peace and security. The administration will undergo a policy review and include allies in that review.

On Biden’s Week Ahead

He will not be leaving the D.C. Metro area next week and will continue to sign executive orders.
