Celebrities, Former Democratic Presidential Candidates To Hold Virtual Rallies For Biden

A number of high-profile Democrats are set to hold virtual events in the upcoming weeks for the party’s presumptive presidential nominee, Joe Biden, according to an email obtained by The Hill.

Former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton is set to host a virtual reception for Biden on July 9, according to The Hill.

Former 2020 Democratic candidates who will hold events for Biden include former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg on July 7, Andrew Yang on July 17 and former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke on June 29.

High-profile celebrities are also joining Biden, including country musician Willie Nelson on June 29 and “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill on June 30.

A virtual fundraiser held alongside former President Barack Obama on Tuesday raised more than $11 million, the Los Angeles Times reported. During the event, Obama referred to President Donald Trump as “mean-spirited” and “shambolic,” according to Business Insider.

“There’s nobody I trust more to heal this country and get it back on track than my dear friend, Joe Biden,” said Obama, according to NBC.
