Watch: SpaceX launches Falcon 9 mission to put Iridium satellites into orbit

SpaceX is targetting a 10:13 a.m. EDT launch on Friday for the Iridium-5 NEXT mission.

The Falcon 9 spacecraft is carrying 10 satellites for the mission which is the 5th of 8 planned launches that will put 75 total NEXT satellites into low Earth Orbit for Iridium.

Falcon 9’s first stage for the Iridium-5 mission previously supported the Iridium-3 mission from SLC-4E in October 2017. SpaceX will not attempt to recover Falcon 9’s first stage after launch.
