Kaepernick Disciples Demand NFL Dedicate Month to Promoting Racial Equality

Only two weeks into the 2017 season, television ratings for the National Football League have resumed their plunge that coincided with the beginning of the national anthem protests last year.

Colin Kaepernick may not be on an NFL roster this year but his presence hovers over the league like a malevolent spirit and his disciples continue to carry on his crusade.

Now it is being reported that a group of blacktivist players sent a letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell calling for the league to set aside an entire month to promote community activism and black equality.

The group includes Seattle Seahawks troublemaker Michael Bennett who recently set off a social media firestorm by accusing police of racial profiling and roughing him up when he was seen exhibiting suspicious behavior when they responded to reports of a shooting at a nightclub after the Mayweather-McGregor title bout in Vegas. The Las Vegas Police have denied Bennett’s claims and the player is looking to cash in off of a civil rights lawsuit that will also serve to elevate his profile in Kaepernick’s army.

The others who signed the letter are Malcolm Jenkins who is thrusting his fist into the air on the sidelines in the uniform of the Philadelphia Eagles, ex-Kaepernick teammate Torrey Smith who also plies his trade in Philly and former player Anquan Boldin who also played with Kaepernick when he was with the San Francisco 49ers.

The four are pointing out that the league already promotes a “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” as well as honors the military – a strange and ironic thing for a bunch of malcontents spitting on the flag to point out.

Via ESPN “Activist NFL players seeking cancer-awareness-style month”:

A group of four players sent the NFL a memo in August requesting league support and asking for a month to be dedicated to social activism, not long after commissioner Roger Goodell reportedly had talked to several players regarding their game-day activism efforts.

According to Yahoo! Sports, defensive end Michael Bennett of the Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins and receiver Torrey Smith, and former Arizona Cardinals wideout Anquan Boldin co-authored the 2,740-word document intended to push the NFL into efforts “similarly to what the league already implements for breast cancer awareness, honoring military, etc.”

The letter was obtained by Yahoo! Sports and originally published on Wednesday night.

The entire letter can be read HERE.

It is yet another headache for Goodell who may have made owners wealthier than ever before but his tenure has been marked by controversy including his failure to nip the Kaepernick rebellion in the bud last summer before it mutated into a movement.

If Goodell caves and allows the entire league to be hijacked by a very noisy minority to promote an anti-American, anti-police, racial agenda then he will go down in history as the man who killed the NFL.

If ratings are already slipping, such a move would send them into an irreversible death spiral.

It’s Goodell’s move now.
