President Donald Trump endorsed Dr. Kelli Ward for Senator in Arizona – sort of.
Trump posted his support for Ward on Twitter Thursday morning saying that it is “Great to see that Dr. Kelli Ward is running against Flake Jeff Flake, who is WEAK on borders, crime and a non-factor in Senate. He’s toxic!”
It is no surprise that Trump is endorsing Ward as Sen. Jeff Flake has been a vocal opponent of the president. Flake has opposed Trump on illegal immigration, immigration reform, and trade.
Senator Flake is facing an uphill battle in his home state. A Morning Consult poll recently found that 45% of those asked find Flake unfavorable while only 37% approve of the job he has done as Senator. The poll also showed anti-Trumper, John McCain, to have a negative approval rating.
