Republican leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer discuss President Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey on the Senate floor during leader remarks.
McConnell pointed out the hypocrisy on display by leading Democrats while Schumer questioned the president’s timing and judgment.
Schumer is using the firing to further his call for a special prosecutor to look into unsubstantiated claims of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. Democrats know that the collusion story is a farce. And they would certainly use the special prosecutor to subpoena Donald Trump’s tax records.
